Anybody Interested in Chris Bosh?

I was thinking about how Chris might be on the market and how Lebron knows that he could use some replacements for Mike Miller and co. Lebron likes Thornton so maybe a trade proposal of

Marcus Thornton (Lebron getting him open 3s)
John Salmons (Lebron getting him open 3s plus good backup for Wade)
Jimmer ( Lebron getting him Open 3s)

for

Chris Bosh ( Miami gets rid of his contract and Kings get a decent big man to go along Cousins for at least year. Bosh has player options after, we could get rid of him after if he doesnt want to stay and release 20 mill of the books worst case scenario)

You might be surprised what Miami might be willing to take for Bosh. The salaries of their big three continue to escalate to a point where it might make sense to let one go, or, better yet, break a contract up into 2 or 3 role players. Unless they deem Dwyane Wade's health a big issue, Bosh would be the guy to which they'd look to do that. Perhaps they'd consider a package of Salmons, Thornton and Pat Patterson. Salmons contract can be terminated by the team after next season thus freeing up 7M of what would have still been on Bosh's yearly contract, Thornton would provide a capable shooter/scorer off the bench and Patterson would replace Bosh's abilities as a stretch big and is actually a better 3pt shooter.

I'm actually not much of a fan of Bosh, but he would provide a solid offensive option and rebounder next to Cuz. But is he worth 20M per year? Uh, no way. Not only that, his typical performances in big playoff games - see Game 7 the other night - wouldn't inspire me to want to take on that contract (I seriously doubt he opts out of the final 2 years At 20.5 and 22M respectively).

Like I said, IMO, they won't take scraps for Bosh. There's a reason why Miami has been to the Finals 3 years in a row (of course they have Lebron). It's because they are not idiots over there. Just because Bosh has been ridiculed as of late doesn't mean he's a scrub. He's a 5 time NBA All star and a 2 time NBA Champion who's only 29 years old. He has had to take a backseat to Lebron and Wade so his offensive touches are limited but he was a 20 10 player for Toronto while leading them to the playoffs multiple times as THE focal point of that team.

On another far-fetched note, anyone see the report from Sulia that one NBA source hears Deng, Aldridge, and Granger may be available? Now, it appears CLE is making a push for Deng, but how much could it possibly cost to land Aldridge, and would any price not include DMC or Tyreke? I can't see it, but that sort of pick intrigues me. POR is exploring a deal of their #10 for Gortat, potentially, and could also have their eye on Pekovic. With that, reading between the lines could indicate they are looking to find some value for LaMarcus.

I do like Granger, and also think someone like Randolph would be an interesting piece with DMC as well.

As to Bosh, there were times during the playoffs it almost seemed like he was frozen. He appears to have lost much of the edge on his jumper and almost all of that explosiveness he had during his days in TOR when he was really a dangerous and unpredictable presence in the post. Without a shot and mobility, and lacking any semblance of consistent defense or rebounding, I think we can do better than take on a guy that makes over $19M next year and over 20M (in player options, no less) the two years that follow that. Ick.

Also, from what I heard and read, he doesn't like playing with Cousins. I'd rather have Alderidge. Tyreke does make cool lay-ups and half court shots.

He called me a confused puppy because I didn't know that Evans had a better turnover rate that Kobe last year and that he should be in the same sentence as Kobe, D-Wade, and Harden. Makes sense since they all handle the ball and Kings don't want the ball in Tyreke's hands. Ha!

Let me rephrase ... the Kings haven't gotten better with Evans as one of their top players and I would like it if they traded him for an all star player. That was supposed to be my point.

Many Kings fans got off to a bad start with Reke's game and never recovered or even cared to bother trying to see through the Keith Smart haze. I can't see through it clearly either, but I can damn well tell SOMETHING is going on, and that it would be a great way to look foolish if you did not make sure of what you were seeing. He doesn't have to be any of those guys to be a helluva player. Even if he were 20-5-5 and nothing more he could easily be the #2 SG in the league in a couple of years with Wade and Kobe departing stage left.

I'm sorry, but Bosh has never been or ever will be a superstar. He was a star player in Toronto, but has turned into an overpaid role player in Miami.

The only place I have heard this is from Grant Napier (haven't been able to find anything anywhere else to back it up). Considering Grant's attitude toward Cousins this season, I would take most of what he says with a grain of salt. Even when he was calling games he couldn't compliment Cousins play without following it up something negative.
