anybody else excited for this upcoming season??!

Big Cuz 15

All-Star
i'm checking out some clips of spencer hawes, jason thompson, garcia and kmart. one thing that has stuck out in these clips are mikki moore's enthusiasm! he gets really pumped up even if he doesn't make the big play. i'm loving it!! can't wait til the season starts to watch our guys play!

I'm excited to see how guys develop. Hawes, Douby, Thompson, Greene, and even Martin, Garcia and Beno. It should be fun to watch, assuming the young'uns get some PT.

Yes, especially if Mikki is showing his enthusiasm primarily on the sideline because our young bigmen are getting soooo much playing time. ;)

I'm just excited that we are finally rebuilding. It's nice to finally have a roster full of youth and young talent. Gives us something to look foward too.

Just hope Reggie is going to give the young fellas a chance. I just don't wan't him to play the vets, just for the sole purpose of tryin to get into, or compete for the playoffs. In an ideal world it would be nice if he plays our youth this season, and we ended up competing for, or actually getting into the playoffs.

Im excited about:

*salmons (most likely anyway), getting to start. i think he'll be really valuable to us because of his all round play, and the fact that he's not a ball hog ;)
*all our young guns: JT, donte, singletary, and even bobby brown.
*the new jerseys
*cant wait to see bobby again! :D

GO KINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Youth and rebuilding = inherently mroe exciting than anything we've seen around here in years. There's still more that needs to be done, much more, and Reggie's coaching could determine a lot of whether this season is actually interesting or not -- and John Salmons, Mikki Moore, Brad Miller etc. are not what I mena when I say "interesting". But for the first time in a decade, literally, there is the possibility of seeing young polayers with potential at every position. With the correct focus Kevin is the old boring maxed out vet of the group. With the wrong focus (and I don't trust Reggie not to have it), the kids are fighting for scraps again.

I'm definitely more hopeful for this season. Not because I think we'll win a lot, but because there's more chances for something positive and exciting to happen. :)

I'm truly looking forward to this season.

Echoing what Brick said, our team is full of youth with potential. Frankly, the last few years have been tough, watching underperforming & overpaid veterans stink it up, so this will be a nice refresher. And hey, finally a backup PG who isn't a scrub! Sure, they'll only amount to 28 wins, but seasons like this are where the momentum starts.

I can only hope that some nucleus will develop between the young guys, and that they get on the court and play with full effort.

I agree. I am excited to watch these young players grow and develop their game (hopefully into stud ballers). Anyone know how much the NBA League Pass costs for DirecTV? I am seriously considering getting it.

169-200....i forget...but there is an "early bird offer" for 180 if you got comcast..but not more than 210$ if they increased the asking price. and 100 bucks for the second half of the season...but trust me...get the first half....its much more entertaining.

Interesting is the word I'll use. This will be the most interesting year in a decade, 1998 to be specific. That was an interesting year that turned exciting, shortened as it was. Now I wonder who will fill the Vlade role this year that was so critical 10 years ago?

Probably should be Brad but he is not the excitable type a la Mikki and he is not very demonstrative playing or on the bench. Maybe it will be BJax, sort of a Vlade in miniature? But not really that guy either his first year back after being gone 3 years. Salmons is the quiet "lead by example" type.

Beno? Kevin? That's about it for guys with some experience. Maybe it will be Kevin more in the mold of Duane Wade or Kobe or Jason Kidd or ??? Or will it be Coach Theus? Can he set his ego to the side for this year and teach and push the really young group to grow? Or will he revert back to the Ego is King and winning games is the only way to feed that ego of his? That would not be good for the Kings or us fans.

That's why it will be interesting for awhile then maybe exciting

I can't wait. If ownership-management makes the Miller for Noah trade it will be fantabulous. I love young athletic teams. Watching them grow. Watching them go through their ups and downs. Love it. It's like early spring after three years of nuclear winter.

Totally agree! A Miller trade would cement the renaissance and I'm quite eager for it to begin.

I am always excited for the new season. This year, however, has the added attraction of less drama, hopefully, and more focus on the game.

GO KINGS!!!

How do these inane posts continue to go unchallenged?! You incessantly advocate PT based on the # on your birth certificate, are you serious?

Let's remember Shelden Williams is the big young, tough, anti-soft wide body the Kings could not do without, and missing for so many years, how's that working out so far? Not so great. Yea, give him more time, that's the answer  And better get Quincy Douby out there, after all, he's a kid. Never mind he hasn't proved he belongs in the league. Reggie should be lambasted for sure if he plays an over-the-hill cast-off like Beno Udrih over Q. Obviously, at an advanced age of 26, Beno is not getting any better. Never mind that not once until last year did he receive steady minutes. This is the kind of twisted logic you consistently present to the board as fact!

Fact: Spencer Hawes should prove he's a better player, and more effective than Brad Miller before getting B-52's minutes. If you give minutes away unearned, you invite anarchy among your players, and lose their respect. (We saw that to a varying extent when Adelman gifted C-Webb minutes when he could barely run, our season unraveled, and the coach was canned.) Right now, Brad is better than Spence. Period, end of story. When Spence is consistently out-playing Brad in practice, and outplaying the same opponent in games then, and only then, does he earn starter minutes. Until then, he's a prospect and work-in-progress.

Fact: Jason Thompson must show he is a better and more effective player than Mikki Moore before taking away his minutes. JTs resume was achieved at a second tier school. Mikki Moore is a modest performer by any measure, but why should he take a seat to a rookie if he is more polished, skilled, and productive on the court?

Fact: Reggie Theus knows enough about basketball to no better. He scored over 18,000 points over his illustrious career. He maximized his ability as a player, and longevity in the league. There is no reason to question his better judgement. As he has stated, players determine who plays, not the coach. If the "kids" live up to their potential, they will take the vets minutes away in due time. And maybe not at any time next year, so accept it. It's a fallacy to presume more PT is what a youngster need. PT is earned, not given. Youngster eventually become too good to keep off the court, a la Kevin Martin, a la Beno, and a la Cisco in the second half of last season.

Whether the new guys are ready to shine, or not up to the challenge will be one of the intriguing stories come fall. Personally, I hope the vets (B-52, Salmon, and Moore) get around 30 minutes a game, they can help us win upwards of 50 games if their roles are properly defined and skills properly utilized.

I must have missed something. What are you talking about?

Botht the threshhold question of whwther some excitement = enough excitement to get people to spedn $100 a game, and the question, ahrd to determine from our sample size here, of whether the STHs really have been agitating for the shortsighted win now moves so they get to see a few more wins this year, and may not respond well to a rebuild. That's *** backwards in my book, but there have been some trying to claim that as some chunk of the STH's position.

I am very excited ................ but I do not buy $100 tickets. Let's see how many s.t. holders will be excited.

Season tickets are available for much less than $100 a game. And STH have already ordered their tickets for this season. The real test will be if the Kings get new STH or returnees. I personally think they will.

I am always excited for the new NBA/Kings season. However, the one year where I was excited the very least was the Musselman faze...

but anyways... yeah I'm counting down the days!

I'm excited to the EXTREME!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, we could have the crappiest team in the NBA for all i care and id still be excited. Were gonna get 55 wins at least this season! LOL!

If Brad goes then you will get to watch "young athletic team" play. Play yes. Win No. Not this year, and not much more next year either. That would be hard, cold reality. But if that happens who are the Vets that are absolutely essential to any team to come together, grow and provide some of the necessary leadership?? Salmons and Mikki would be it. Do you really want them to be the "core" leadership veterans?

I think Brad is absolutely essential this year for a number of reasons, biggest being to mentor Hawes and Thompson and Williams. Besides Brad makes nearly $12M and Noah makes $2.2M So Kings would have to suck up another $10M in salaries from other players. You've got 14 contracts now and KT and SAR. The Bulls don't want them either. So Brad stays and is the bucket of glue for the youngsters.

My point is that I am excited and I love our rebuilding, and I do not care much about wins this year ... but I watch games on TV. I do not pay $50, 100, 200 for tickets. But many fans in Sacramento do buy them and I am not sure that there are a lot of them will be very excited to see a 30-52 season.
