Youth and rebuilding = inherently mroe exciting than anything we've seen around here in years. There's still more that needs to be done, much more, and Reggie's coaching could determine a lot of whether this season is actually interesting or not -- and John Salmons, Mikki Moore, Brad Miller etc. are not what I mena when I say "interesting". But for the first time in a decade, literally, there is the possibility of seeing young polayers with potential at every position. With the correct focus Kevin is the old boring maxed out vet of the group. With the wrong focus (and I don't trust Reggie not to have it), the kids are fighting for scraps again.
How do these inane posts continue to go unchallenged?! You incessantly advocate PT based on the # on your birth certificate, are you serious?
Let's remember Shelden Williams is the big young, tough, anti-soft wide body the Kings could not do without, and missing for so many years, how's that working out so far? Not so great. Yea, give him more time, that's the answer

And better get Quincy Douby out there, after all, he's a kid. Never mind he hasn't proved he belongs in the league. Reggie should be lambasted for sure if he plays an over-the-hill cast-off like Beno Udrih over Q. Obviously, at an advanced age of 26, Beno is not getting any better. Never mind that not once until last year did he receive steady minutes. This is the kind of twisted logic you consistently present to the board as fact!
Fact: Spencer Hawes should prove he's a better player, and more effective than Brad Miller before getting B-52's minutes. If you give minutes away unearned, you invite anarchy among your players, and lose their respect. (We saw that to a varying extent when Adelman gifted C-Webb minutes when he could barely run, our season unraveled, and the coach was canned.) Right now, Brad is better than Spence. Period, end of story. When Spence is consistently out-playing Brad in practice, and outplaying the same opponent in games then, and only then, does he earn starter minutes. Until then, he's a prospect and work-in-progress.
Fact: Jason Thompson must show he is a better and more effective player than Mikki Moore before taking away his minutes. JTs resume was achieved at a second tier school. Mikki Moore is a modest performer by any measure, but why should he take a seat to a rookie if he is more polished, skilled, and productive on the court?
Fact: Reggie Theus knows enough about basketball to no better. He scored over 18,000 points over his illustrious career. He maximized his ability as a player, and longevity in the league. There is no reason to question his better judgement. As he has stated, players determine who plays, not the coach. If the "kids" live up to their potential, they will take the vets minutes away in due time. And maybe not at any time next year, so accept it. It's a fallacy to presume more PT is what a youngster need. PT is earned, not given. Youngster eventually become too good to keep off the court, a la Kevin Martin, a la Beno, and a la Cisco in the second half of last season.
Whether the new guys are ready to shine, or not up to the challenge will be one of the intriguing stories come fall. Personally, I hope the vets (B-52, Salmon, and Moore) get around 30 minutes a game, they can help us win upwards of 50 games if their roles are properly defined and skills properly utilized.
