Any movements for C-Webb?
I'm notoriously pro-Webber, and I'd love to see that happen... but I honestly don't think Webber's ready to swallow that much pride yet.I'd be willing to bet he will be wearing a Boston uni next season. He has always expressed his deep friendship with Garnett and now he sees it as his opportunity to play with his friend and get a ring. he can be Garnetts backup and actually know the guy in front of him is better.

I'd have to agree with you here Entity. At this point, Webb just wants to be a contributor towards a championship...and that's probably his best bet, at this point. He isnt pulling a Mitch Richmond going to LA to ride the bench for 2.2 pts a game, he can still play...but his time is running out, definitely.I think he is. In fact didn't he contimplate retirement? He only has one reason to play any longer and that is to get a championship. He is looking for the team that gives him the best chance at that. He is a still a good player and would fill a nice role in Boston with about 20-25 min a game. he could start in Houston but, like a I said he and KG are tight. Lets just say I called it here.
Its time for Webb to channel his inner Bill Walton ...
Perkins doesn't strike me as a starting caliber center, so I could actually see Webber starting at center in Boston, alongside Garnett. The key thing is what is a "contributor" from Webb's perspective? That great player pride of his could be his undoing. Also why a place like Dallas made absolutely no sense. Orlando? What's the point? Detroit is viable, but frankly I think that team is just about washed up and has pretty much jumped the shark. Be looking for scapegoats and youth here pretty soon, and Webb might be well advised to move on. But Boston could be a lot of fun. Splitting time wiht Perkins at C and backing up KG at the 4. Those old hungry vets could really put on a show. The other place which just made sense to me, but maybe nto to the principles, was down to Houston to help Rick teach them that system. Split time with Scola, go smallball behind Yao. These are places where he still has a significant role to play, albeit as facilitator/teacher rather than star. Its time for Webb to channel his inner Bill Walton (with the Cs late in his career).

I'd much rather see that than see him in Dallas. Houston I could swallow, but not Dallas. Especially winning a ring there. I'd curl up in a ball and die, L'il Ann style.

Can I ask what L'il Ann is in reference to?
Ever read "Where the Red Fern Grows"? If you haven't, then never mind...
I think I'll be more interested in the NBA this season than next season...I hope he goes to Houston. I'm pulling for Houston more than Boston this season (after the Kings, of course)...
Another thing that wouldn't surprise me is that he waits and signs with a team later in the season. It'll give his knees some extra rest and also he'll be able to check out where he may fit best and how these new power teams (Boston and Houston) work out.
Sorry, but that sucks big time. I don't care what the name on the back is, I will NEVER root for someone whose jersey says Dallas on the front.
As you should be. He'd give your offense another dimension, especially in the playoffs.Considering our two team's recently fiercely entangled playoff histories, I can certainly sympathize with your feelings VF, but for my own part I am very, very excited about the prospect of Webber coming to Dallas (seemingly more so than many of my fellow Mavs fans).
Fine, I'll be the dissenting voice... I don't see what all the brouhaha is. I mean, I could understand the vitriol if he were playing for the gd lakers... but Dallas? I don't get it.
