The Pelicans offer better not become the baseline of an increased bidding war, or else good bye. 11 mil, is pressing the issue as is, but I'd probably look the other way and match it
There's no talent available that can do what Reke can do, not only for the team but for a backcourt partner in MLM.
Vasquez doesn't come close, despite some thinking he's some worthy replacement.
It's you're, and no, you're missing the point. There's nothing stopping Reke from talking to multiple team over the next 10 days, signing the offer sheet on the 10th, and we lost the window to trade him. You act like the only option is Reke giving our FO a 10 day notice.

Kings are due to meet with Evans at 5 p.m.
Vasquez was brought up as a possible peice of retribution, and thats it. So was Lopez. Why, because those are the only two players on the damm team under contract that are worth a damm.
Please see my post above. There's blame on both sides and BOTH sides know full well what they're doing. You can choose to be snarky or you can choose to make your point without the snark. I'm just asking people to choose the latter because it's too damned hot ...
here's the facts, kings fans: if the kings don't overpay tyreke evans, they'll be forced to overpay somebody else. i'd rather it be a 23-year-old guard with a high ceiling and an elite rim attack than a player who is considerably less talented that i snagged for a few million less per season. the wins aren't coming if the checkbook isn't opened. it's that simple. you overpay for a player with tyreke's production, and you carefully manage the contracts of your lesser talents...
Actually, the Pelicans have to cut Robin Lopez's unguaranteed contract to make the (official) offer sheet. They may not cut him if Tyreke indicates he won't sing, though.
I'm just guessing here, but I don't think they're going to go into the room, offer Tyreke several million dollars fewer than the Pelicans did, and then tell him they won't match if he signs. I think the fact that we are meeting with Tyreke means we are taking this offer seriously, whatever CD and Amick and "sources close to Evans" say.
If we don't intend to match, why go to LA to meet with him?

What? Exactly where in that post is your name?
Just who in the hell said he was a worthy replacement for Tyreke???????????????????? Huh???? You want to throw some names out there, or are you bent on taking cheap shots at unknowns.
To work out a sign and trade.
Right. We can offer that 5th year and maybe a hair less per year.
Anyone remember this?

I know of no one that said that. Vasquez was brought up as a possible peice of retribution, and thats it. So was Lopez. I was the first one to bring up Vasquez as far as I know. Sorry, but when you throw out a general statement, I can't define who is and who is not being aimmed at.
Wrong the 5th year and increased raises were removed from sign and trades in the new CBA. He basically can get the same as signing with another team.

Why? To drop the 500k they have to pay Lopez after cutting him? I don't get why NO works with us at all.
What are you talking about? There is no window to trade him unless it's something he's willing to do. If a sign and trade is better for his new team or allows him to get more money then he will come back and ask for a sign and trade before signing an offer sheet.
WE can offer Tyreke a 5 year deal before he signs an offer sheet. I'm not talking about a sign and trade.

If the player is coming off the fourth year of his rookie scale contract, then in addition to a qualifying offer, his team can also submit a maximum qualifying offer. A maximum qualifying offer is for five seasons at the maximum salary with 7.5% annual raises.
No kidding. Yet, again, you're acting like that is only option.
I'm not doubting you, but could you point out where in the FAQ you found that? All I could find was stuff about the maximum qualifying offer:

Per @sam_amick, the Kings are considering matching Evans offer. IMO, they should.
Evans has serious interest in signing with the Pelicans, and will likely agree to sign the deal if the Kings tell him later today in their meeting in Los Angeles that they will not match. Owner Vivek Ranadive, general manager Pete D'Alessandro and coach Michael Malone are expected to take part in the meeting, and a person with knowledge of the Kings' thinking said they are considering matching the offer if he agrees to sign it. Evans is visiting with the Detroit Pistons before seeing the Kings.
So they will offer him $11 mil and Evans will sign it? It's a lot of guess work but makes sense. I'm glad they jumped right in before Evans met with too many teams. There's that "respect" thing that I think is also important. If he is offered $11 mil by the smooth talking Vivek and told he will be a PG by Malone, he can't rightfully expect a whole lot more. He can't move his new home to NO or Detroit and that may factor in. Playing next to McLemore may factor in. After 4 years of losing, he might want to be on a team that is definitely on the upswing and be a substantial part of it playing the position he wants. My GUESS, yes GUESS, about Tyreke is that money isn't the only item important in his life. Having a smooth talking billionaire describe how much he wants him may have an impact.
It isn't all about money with some players.
