I definitely think YES. Kings are in a TOUGH situation, here's why I believe this: If you remember we got knocked out of the finals by the lakers and twolves then you probably already know what i'm going to say.
Kings are constantly scrutinized for losing that "window of opportunity" to win a championship. Commentators say our star player is too old, our bench lacks depth, idleman doesn't adjust to changes, and we have too many shooters and too little defense and rebounds.
Defense wins games. Spurs proved it, Pistons proved it.
Especially for a shooting team, if you have no rebounding, you'll never get second chance opportunities. In our case we have rebounders, but they're all shooters too. So we have them far from the basket to matter. Also, we're settling for low percentage field goals. And no chance for "and 1" opportunities.
As for depth, Songaila let's points go through like groceries on the checkout stand in the express lane with cash only 5 items or less. Centers? Tag, quoted as the most underachieving/ underperforming centers in the league. Kevin Martin couldn't guard mcgrady, kobe, iverson, carter, richardson, allen if his life depended on it.
Has anyone noticed that our games are always a back and forth exchange of buckets?
Our game is so sloppy now. If you compare our game to back in 2003, we were always on fast breaks, and always controlling the tempo of the game.
Now, we're playing catchup right from the first quarter!!!
Anyways if I'm anything like Petrie then we're eyeballing a flexible PF/Center like Stromile Swift: another sixth man like Bobby Jackson. I've heard Okafor was a possibility for Peja.
