Sacramento is now 3-7 in the games Monk has missed this season. You really missed his will to win and his chaos creation in the fourth quarter. Fortunately, the absence is only temporary.

They are 4-7 when Sabonis is out. Both guys are crucial to the team's success.

Missing both Sabonis and Monk this is a lottery team. Just not enough talent offensively for an average at best defense.

Unfortunately, this home stand was the key time for this team to gel and instead they've had multiple players missing games. Lavine, Laravia, and Monk. Hard to get a rhythm going when key players keep missing games, for whatever reasons

I’ll always be a Doug Christie fan..hell, I still like Vlade even though his GM stint set the franchise back indefinitely.

but Doug isn’t long term head coach material. He’s been frequently out coached. His rotations are often poor. Then the games best player on the Kings side doesn’t close?

I think it’s safe for Kings fans to start discussion on who the Kings should look to coach the team next season. But perhaps first who the next GM will be.

fact is, if the Kings wanted Zach LaVine, they could’ve had him for Harrison Barnes and other assorted salary filler this past offseason. No picks. Possibly could’ve had picks in return just to relieve the Bulls of his deal.

The fact that less than a year later he’s the center return for the most tradable player the Kings had when we already had DeRozan shows our GM is out of ideas and won’t be employed for the next coach. He shouldn’t have been employed to do the Fox trade tbh.

Zach is having a better year than Fox. So we got a guy who is having a better year this season PLUS 2 first round picks, a top 40 pick in this draft, 2 Charlotte second rounders which will likely be top 40 selections and picks that turned into Valanciunas for a guy that didn’t want to be here. I fail to see why that isn’t a good haul. Monte would get another year if was up to me, he deserves a lot of credit for Domas, Keegan, Keon, Laravia and all the developmental pieces are oozing with potential. I think he will be proven right on Devin and both IJ and iCraw have a chance to be rotational players or at the very least cheap depth which is critical in the new CBA era.

Having said that, Vivek will probably fire Monte because according to all our insiders it’s a total shift show with chaos at every turn. And then it all hits the fan after that. This team needed another year or two of stability after the drought, not chaos. More than likely, here we are.

I'm with you. Before, the team had no bench depth. Now the Kings have good depth everywhere except at point guard. And those cheap contracts are crucial to keep the "glue guys" stuck to the roster.

it’s not really a critique of Zach or comparing Zach to Fox. I think LaVine and Fox are of the same tier and on a better constructed roster he is a better fit with Sabonis.

I just wish we got a more young, multi player haul for Fox and in retrospect, the Kings would’ve been better off acquiring LaVine when the Bulls were begging teams to take him this offseason.

Just two months of not seeing the bigger picture and we end up paying more. We could’ve had LaVine and used Fox to get a multi player haul.

on top of that, I’ve said before that I don’t think Monte see value around the league in guys like PJ Washington(just an example) or other 3rd and 4th year players without a defined role. I don’t think he considers them at all because he’s never moved for one even though they often fit needs.

I just don’t think he is a good GM. I thought he really saw for miles when he moved for Domas and then quickly added good fit players like Monk,Huerter, and Keegan but it’s just been inaction, bad idea, and more inaction since then.

I realized he was out of ideas last season while he sat on his hands while teams that were on our level(Dallas) repurposed guys like PJ and Gafford into important role players. It was telling that the Kings were arguably better than Dallas before those deals and then they went on to make the finals.

I doubt Monte ever even considered moving for guys like that because the only times we ever heard those names were on forums of fans wondering why Monte doesn’t go after these guys…in the news, we were hearing about DeJounte Murray last trade deadline because that made a lot of sense. A lot of nonsense

he wasn’t out of ideas in my opinion, he didn’t have assets. Now he does. I’d like to see what he can do with 6 firsts and 4 or 5 seconds plus the contracts we have now.

I guess we will know soon enough m

Ya unfortunately non of this matters if Lavine, monk, Derozan, and Dabonis all start and play big minutes together. We’ll just get cooked defensively and lose that way unless lineup changes are made

At least Christie admitted his mistakes, he even put the blame on him for the defeat against the Bulls in tonight's presser.
If he can leave Jonas at the bench in crunch time he should do the same with Zach or Deebo, Valanciunas has a much lower salary compared with the former Bulls I guess but this hurting their ego thing is hurting the team even more. Same story about the starting lineup (and we had a good start again with Keon today) same story with the closing one as well.

Presser was very telling. Glad the players are speaking up about this bs iso ball at the end of games. Derozen is litteraly fox 2.0 with this hero ball. When it works it's beautiful, but when it doesn't it's a automatic loss.

People taking this i am clutch crap too litteral. Being clutch doesn't mean you take every shot under 5 min in 4th

Where are you getting that presser info from?

Ya I was tired of that Derozan shut months ago how do you not pass literally at all run pick and roll and dish to your teammates

Just low IQ iso fadeaways by DDR and Zac killing the team when Kyle Kuzma is playing smarter (had a great floor game) than most of your team your not winning.

JV had it going the whole game not a single post up for him as sick as I got of watching Harrison Barnes ghost every 2nd game the non stop iso DDR crap is just so tiresome like how does a guy not see after 15 years of not winning that it does not work but Kyle Kuzma can adjust his game to suit a winning team is just sad. I would understand if this was a tanking team DDR going for his in that fashion but not in this situation.

Keegan is really good a winning player if I ever seen one regardless of his flaws.

The team didn't score in the last 4:24 and Christie acting like he was helpless is not a good look. He needs to read the pulse of the game quickly and respond with an appropriate play call or adjustment. Players can get caught up in the moment and try to iso their way out. It's up to him to provide clarity and direction.

This is 100% Doug’s fault. If he pitches about faceless opponents, he should have the same faceless player mentality with his own team. He’s coaching based on name and salary instead of performance on court.
He's admitting his mistakes... publicly. That not only takes guts, but self-awareness. That is a sign that he can learn from his mistakes. I'm still willing to give him another year, and this squad another year.

Brown wasn't learning.

DeRozan and Zach not being a winning combo. Shocking. Who could have possibly seen that coming. This team misses Domas’s ability to share the ball.

Worse Dallas made the Gafford moves using Richaun Holmes and a pick. They got Richaun Holmes and a pick for cash from us. So not only did Monte not make the trade he facilitated it.

Because this team isn’t a fantasy team and the pieces have to fit. One of your most impactful 2 way players is Keon and Zach blocks his play time. If you believe in Carter you don’t bring in a 45M dollar vet that restricts him to 10 minutes in the game.

Before we give Monte credit for Keon and LaRavia let’s see if we can re-sign them.

Otherwise we gave up Jones and a 2nd for a guy who helped us make the play-in and lose our pick. The LaRavia trade has the potential to be yet another short term thinking reactive move which has characterized this team and front office.

You don’t have to be an insider to see it’s a crap show.

We need a training camp, big time.
