Figures that the Kings' shots would start falling, and then their defense disappears.

Y'all can't never have two things that match!
Lmao this is elite usage of an image right here

Well, to be fair to the doomers, LaVine's absence opened up the necessary minutes for Keon and Carter. The Kings probably do need to engage in an overhaul of their rotation in the offseason to ensure that their best defenders are seeing the court for at least 25-30 minutes per game. That likely means trading one of LaVine, DeRozan, or Monk.
If you were really fair, it means that the Kings have enough talent to make some noise now and have enough tradeable assets and picks to assemble better fitting personnel to improve the Kings. A team is not built in one day or one season. First, we acquire assets. Then, we figure out what works on the floor. Later, we parlay assets to get the talent that helps us improve. We are at Step 1 following the major shakeup in the lineups. A little patience while cooking results in a better dish.

The "blow it all up" doomers are really short-sighted and lack imagination. They act like visionaries thinking long term but have no ideas worth the salt.

Carter is going to be a star. I knew it from the first game I saw him in this year. Carter, Ellis, Murray, and LaRavia are one hell of a group to have when you need defense . When you also have players like Monk, LaVine, DeMar and our twin Lithunians. Our front office just needs to make a few moves to bring in more guys who balance this team. More wing depth. And all of you who have been saying we need to rebuild this team right now. I think you have not been Kings fans for very long. This team can be very good. No stupid decision by the front office and for goodness sakes make Doug the boach

Fun game to be at. Keegan, Ellis and Carter is a long 1-3 and can lock down out there.

But tonight also reinforces my belief the Zach trade was a horrible trade for this team.
Exchanging Huerter for Zach is never a bad trade.

You may not like the fit (it's not as if Kevin was a great fit), but the talent disparity is significant. As his contract nears end, you can get something significant for him. Was never possible with Kevin.

If this isn't a confidence booster I don't know what is. Exactly the medicine we needed for our morale after the Clippers and Nuggets fiascos. This team knows it can beat any team in the league - and without Domas, Lavine, and LaRavia. This win just could not have come at a better time. Let's cap it with a win tomorrow! Love how we're defending home court now. Five more games on this homestand!

Vassell would have actually fit the team well, also had Lyles taken a elbow to the head I would have said he had a Sabonis like game.

Malik easily the best shot blocker on the team his two foot very is vicious.

Except for the fact that Vassell is not good and very expensive, sure

I think people get locked into their image of Devin Vassell, hot young prospect we were hoping fell to the Kings in the draft, instead of Devin Vassell, smaller wing (really has been more of a guard in the NBA than a forward) who’s a streak volume shooter rotation level player making 150 million dollars over the next five years.

I told ya all Carter is a winner. That's why I was surprise he didn't get minutes and even put into G-League. The guy play a hell of a defense...not just individually but team help defense, things you can't teach. The little things like box out and rebound and knowing when to help teammates that are in trouble. His anticipation is on a different level.

Coaches son baby!!!

Game like this shows me the talent is here... its on Doug to make sure it's being played properly. No more running the 4 offensive hubs for huge minutes together. If they all have to start, fine, but the rest of the game should be staggered. 1-2 of monk/lavine/ddr on the floor, max and surround them with the defensive role guys (keon, Keegan, laravia, carter)

No more excuses. Do we want to win games or not?

There was quite a bit of information to be gained from how this game was played. Not only how certain players performed but how missing players affect the team's output and construction.

Coach Christie could use what he learned about individual players, combinations, rotations, and compatibility to guide him for in-game decisions. It is likely that the "shooters/no defense" crew will start each game but perhaps what was gleaned from the play in this Cavs game will spur the coach to make more rapid adjustments to avoid the too familiar first and third quarter pitfalls with the starters.

While all the starters have admirable talents, their overlapping skills tend to suppress achievement. With the bench having players that have starter possibilities, it would seem reasonable to freely use them to counter or strengthen areas of need when they appear in-game.

NOTE. @TheJamal just scooped my post as it was being written. He understands the concept quite well..
