I’m most interested in supporting a team that is fun and has a chance to win most games. I don’t care if a team wins a championship. My favourite childhood sports team lost twice in the semi-finals, but I don’t really care my memories are of going to the games with my parents and waving a flag around (as well as crying when my dad said he couldn’t afford tickets to the semi-finals). My favourite teenage sports team won back-to-back world cups, and it was nice, but I don’t have any real positive memories of it, and it didn’t change my life in anyway. The Kings sort of needed to pivot before Fox asked out. Then they were forced to when he asked out. So, there is some inevitability that they will be bad for a minute or two. But they are a community asset and their responsibility to putting an engaging and accessible product on the floor is greater than their responsibility to compete for a championship. Be bad this year, draft someone, move on.
It’s probably going to be bad for more than just this year. If Monte had not traded our pick for Huerter we would either have McQueen or New Orleans first round pick this year. Or if he was smart enough to tank last year we would be sending them 2 seconds.

The man did as much damage to this franchise as Vlade…….

Good to see Carter showing that ability to get to the line. If he gets a 3 point shot this is where the star potential is for him. As of now his per minute productivity is starting to be realized in the game minutes. Great signs.

Star potential? That's probably off the table at this point. I'm just looking for a solid rotation player.

Your Carter optimism knows no equal 😄

And Carter was shooting 16% from 3 before tonights more awful shooting for a SG... and he also took a step back in G league this year as an older 2nd year player

We can have hope for him, but as of now there are hints on the court as to why the org may not be high on him (trying to move him last summer)

Perry's picks I'm more hopeful of

Devin, needs to step it up

Man, it's just SO weird that you can quote a poster who is summoning genuinely heartfelt sports memories to express a desire to root for a team they can be proud of... and you turn it into an opportunity for reductive anti-Monte propaganda post #10,566. Pathological, I think is the term I'm looking for.

Devin has playing really well since he has been given the opportunity. 19 5 4 and 1 tonight despite the missed threes. Hes doing the exact thing you are hoping for, stepping up.

No realistic that this roster is not getting fixed in a year. He might as well start mentally prepping for it. We should have started last year but I have made that point.

They went through five straight seasons--five!--in which they failed to win more than 23 games. Eventually, granted, they turned a corner last season. Meanwhile, that is a lot of suffering, if you ask me.
Unfortunately, no other attempt or option has proven to get the Kings further ahead than a 1st round exit and a play-in team. At some point, it's necessary to try something different, in order to obtain a transformative player or players. They had a chance and blew it with the Bagley pick. Lets see what they come up with this time

man can carters shot even be fixed though? its like twice as weird as kevin martins was and way slower. he shoots like a weak third grader lol.
I just cant ever envision him getting consistant clean looks with that release.
maybe in the G League but not against most nba defenders. Everything else looks pretty good with him tho

Listen im a big Dev fan but goodness. If he isnt driving to the basket, his shot is absolutely terrible.

Im not speaking about the 3s as I believe that has a slight chance of improving, but his touch from mid range, or shots on the dribble are beyond repair. He has Westbrook level touch. Perhaps worse.

He also was getting lost out there on defense gambling, made somw bad turn overs and overall just looked raw.

Now on positive note, he can draw a foul man. Best we have had in a long time. Even fox barley got to the ft line. But that kid has a knack for getting to that line.

I wish he could start rest of season. His body language is also not good imo. Always seems like hes moping around or tired

Only one way to find out and that’s consistent time. He’s played 13 total games where he logged at least 20 minutes in his entire career.

I would spend an entire summer working on a quicker release. Would also naturally bring his arc down
