If they think it would upset Fox and possibly influence his decision on his future with the Kings, it would be reasonable to assume that it would factor into decisions about how they handle him, if they wanted to make a change with the defensive position. Especially during the season.
As well as how they handle Mike Brown, if they consider a change there at some point
He's been here 8 years. He's been the face of the franchise since he arrived (even though we played him behind George Hill his rookie year for some reason). We've shown a huge commitment to him especially when you consider that at no point in his career has he been an elite shooter, facilitator, or defender. I think most people would consider it reasonable if we moved on from Fox at this point.
Clearly we don’t agree….and that’s okay. We obviously need to something. No question. Just not sure what. I’m on board with trading Keegan, Monk, and even Sabonis if we can get a quality player or two in return. Just not down with dumping Fox at this time. What would we get in return? Another point guard? What’s the point? And if not a point guard do you really think Keon and Jordan are going to fill the gap that Fox leaves behind? The heat is on Monty and Brown now, and the players need to feel the heat too. Mostly I’m seeing a mentally weak team that isn’t playing up to its potential, and that more than anything is a coaching and GM problem.
When you see Fox on Wemby in that switch, Wemby's passing. On Monk he's facing up and driving. Fox 1 v 1 sounds like a better deal then Domas coming down to help which was not the goal as Brown said. After the last two games I think were heading into the point of a Domas team where Domas is going to get picked apart for not being a consistent defender, especially in the paint. I still think there's a defender in there somewhere if they use him right. It might be unorthodox but it's in there. Let him hug guys up top and run them off the line like he did to Paul prior to the big 3 pointer. Man, I really think this team could use Chuck Hayes as a personal defensive coach for Domas. So much of what he did, Domas might be able to utilize.
