[Game] 55/82: Kings @ Pelicans 13 FEB 2025, 5:00pm PT/8:00pm ET

Fix the damn defense. Fix the damn turnovers. How does a guy with 6 points at half have over 40! Insane. Top 3 losses of the year for me
Not going to happen when the teams best defender doesn't play the last 13 minutes of the game, outside of 9 seconds in regulation and for a 1:22 when down 5 in OT.

The TO's I think get cleaned up with more familiarity. But this team is not going to work unless Doug manages this roster properly and staggers these guys as they should be played. Or trust the game flow of the game and say "Hey, DDR's off, CJ is killing us, time to get Keon in."

Don't get it. I just don't get it. Monte McNair actually acquires some useful bench players, and Christie rides the starters 40+ minutes on the second night of a back to back on the road. What? Why?!

I will also maintain that this starting unit is not it. Soooooo defensively poor. I've been saying that the Kings will have to average 120+ ppg just to win more games than they lose. Tonight even that wasn't enough.

Start. Keon. Ellis. It ain't happening, but I'm going to beat that drum ad nauseum.

Nah, it's on Christie. Make the adjustment, not DDR's night, get your best perimeter defender on the floor to match up with the guy who shot 7-12 from 3 and scored 43 points on 25 shots.

Him not being able to manage egos is going to continue to cost this team wins. Again, maybe CJ cooks Keon too, but we're not giving ourselves the best shot to win the game.
If he had put Keon on CJ and he still cooked us, well, then you just tip your cap and say great game. But Christie didn’t do that.

This is why Doug may be an inspirational players coach and that’s good for a team that needs a morale boost like the Kings did, but isn’t of long term head coach timber. Bad work tonight.

Keon has a really good track record vs CJ.

People forget CJ murdered the Kings in every game last season but didn’t do much in the play in when Keon guarded him most of the game. Granted, New Orleans had 4-5 other ways to kill the Kings instead and still won, but CJ was a ghost in the play in.

Last night Keon matched vs him much of the game. Average night.

Having Keegan chase CJ allowed him to have 4-5 insane performances against the Kings last season. I’m sure Doug was watching.

Terrible loss going into the break

Oh yeah, START KEON. Right there with you. But it’s not gonna happen.
