Last year that was all I heard. Finally I hope people are realizing it's Nolan. I hate that guy. He's the worst coach in the NFL an should've been fired last year. He plays this stupid big nickel package with 3 safeties and it doesn't have any effect. We don't blitz nearly enough and we can't stop the run. For a defensive genius he is pretty clueless.
Yeah I'm kinda thinking that John York doesn't really care. He's let this joker Nolan screw up on a #1 overall pick, waste 80$mill on a cornerback and then think that he can leave him out their forever with no pass rush, go through 4 OCs in 4 years, and we still don't have a new stadium. York is a major failure.

so since Nolan is still here then it's really the damn Yorks fault. seriously though, that big nickel is effin pissing me off.

Wow how frustrated it is to watch this defense just never get off the field when you really need it to. How do Nolan and manusky come from very aggresive defenses in Baltimore and San diego yet over here they play this sissy a** nickel package??? It's freaken driving me crazy. And martz' playcalling has been mediocre at best. He's been killing our offense with bad play selection. We need more things up the middle wether that'd be by pass or rush(preferably rush since we have the tank) but we tend to flush things outside too much. We don't have that much speed for that kind of offense. Martz needs to realize this team is built to run first then pass second.
Oh and for the love of god yorks please fire nolan, build a new stadium, and then sign your resignation! And then move to Siberia! For good!

49ers fans are whiners. 
You finally have a guy to build around on defense, a guy to build around on offense, you are less horrible than you have been in some time and even look like a competitive football team rather than a bunch of pee wee players, and then ya go and get your panties in a bunch when you get beat by the closest thing to a dynasty this millenium.

You know how it is... a couple of wins and some are already thinking about the Super Bowl.
It's all about expectations, I suppose. I didn't expect much of anything this season so I'm not ready to jump off the bridge or call for Nolan's head on a platter. I can only assume some didn't recognize the Patriots without Tom Brady out there...
Rebuilding ain't for the weak of heart. If they're this upset about the Niners, I can't imagine how they'll feel when the Kings go on their first losing streak.

for real! the loss to the patriots was seriously disappointing because a) there was a lot of optimism going into that game following their loss to the fins and b) the niners schedule only gets worse from here. BUT there a lot of things not to feel so bad, considering that the pats are 3-1 with cassell and are still a team that was 18-1 last year, so hanging with them for 4 quarters is not such a bad thing; the dolphins are looking like a decent team not to mention they see NE twice a year and threw the kitchen sink at them; the pats rarely ever lose two in a row or one after the by week.
arizona is looking very good this year. we probably wont be able to catch them. but the niners are looking better and beat the lions convincingly, something they havent been able to do for years. it sucks to lose but this team looks to be on a slow up trend, maybe if warner retires at the end of the year we will finally be iin a good position to take this division.

I don't think anyone said they weren't incompetent when we won. It's just that we destroyed re worst team in the league and barely beat Seattle which had recievers off the street and we still couldn't stop them. Coaching an ownership are incompetent regardless if they win or not.
You actually think Nolan and the Yorks aren't incompetent? I don't think much of Nolan at all. He is a bad coach. Look at the job Parcells has done in Miami. In less than 1 year they have beaten the Pats and Chargers after going 1-15. Nolan has had 4 years as HC and 3 as GM, he's built this team with his players, he's done an awful job puting the players he picked in a position to succeed.
People called Smith a bust, Nolan picked him. People are calling Vernon Davis a bust after a year with 500 yards and 4 TDs in 1 of the worst offenses in the league and Nolan picked him. People are calling Manny Lawson a bust, Nolan picked him and now refuses to play him on defense. People said Julian Peterson was finished, Nolan let him go sign with Seattle, now he's a pro bowler again after playing for a competent coach. People said Carter was a scrub now he's a good player with Washington. Sorry but Nolan is quite obviously incompetent. He's the NFL version of E-Muss.

McCloughan and McCarthy picked Smith, Nolan wanted Rodgers. One of them picked Gore. I don't know how anybody could call Lawson a bust yet, he's barely had a chance to play. Willis was certainly not a bust.
Under Nolan the 49ers had two medicore seasons (counting this one) and two bad ones. Given the facts behind the two bad ones, I'd consider it an overreaction to call him incompetent. Whether he is a good coach or not remains to be seen, but I don't see where the incompetent label fits in.

lol So I guess you're down for Nolan's 7 year rebuild? We have good players on D. Our D sucks. He's supposed to be a defensive genius. Have you WATCHED the 9ers defense? They play big nickel all game and get no pass rush or run stopping ability at all and they get ran on for 5-6 yards at a time. McCloughan has only had 1 year as GM and you're blaming him for stuff happened 2-3 years ago when Nolan was GM(like picking A. Smith). He tried to build a 3-4 d and failed miserably, but now we don't even have the personnel to play the 4-3 either.
I know what people SAY means nothing. But look at the facts. Peterson and Carter played badly for the 49ers during their time with Nolan. They went to new teams with competent head coaches and look great again.

It's been documented that McCloughan and McCarthy were the ones who wanted Smith and Nolan preferred Rodgers. Of course I'm going to "blame" them because that's what happened.
The 49ers defense is playing bend but don't break right now. They're giving up a lot of plays that way. They're doing a good but not great job in yards per play, but because they haven't been winning on third down they've given up too many total yards. Does that mean they "suck"? Of course not.
And you're right, they're getting no pass rush (except for the 13 sacks) and you're right they have no run stopping ability (except for the 11th best in the NFL yards per attempt statistic).
You're points are just exaggerated because it's tough to watch when you're team isn't a winner every week and isn't showing that it will be a contender any time soon. That's fine and is common for fans, but don't laugh when somebody mentions some facts as well.

I see no improvement really, every week we should have a chance to win...I look at our talent on both sides and I just don't see how we could be one of the worst teams still into his 4th year.
BTW York hired Erikson , my opinion his Nolan isn't a good head coach...maybe a good coordinator but not coach.

You know what bugged me the most? That stupid double reverse razzle-dazzle play. They could have given the ball to Frank Gore, but nooooooooooo. They have to try something flashy - and ineffective. And burning a challenge over a field goal? Sure wish our head coach knew the rules a little better - or that the officials had simply told him he couldn't ask for a review on that particular play.
We found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. But, having said that, I did see some good... And I can live with that for now. It's not like our division is gonna go anywhere anyway.

AZ is actually pretty good. They beat Dallas today. They're going to make the playoffs IMO. Especially with our bum of a coach managing to talk his way out of getting fired week after week.
Oh well, hopefully in a year or 2 the Yorks finally wise up and fire this clown. I said it once and I'll say it again, he's the Eric Musselman of basketball. We won't get better until he leaves. We have talent. We just don't have a head coach. Whatever he gets his hands on crumbles, last year it was the offense without Turner. Now it's the D. He's just a garbage coach.
