So Ordinary That It's Truly Quite Extraordinary

There was joy again tonight. When they tied at the end of second half and all embraced. I dunno, because I did like Mike but something had to give. If this isn't just a brief flurry and is sustainable I'm glad we made the move when we did. If Doug winds up being the long term answer it would be superb and I don't think he'd have gotten the chance in any other circumstance.

@Mr. S£im Citrus perfectly highlighted the core issue with our 2-guard rotation.

Fox isn’t a traditional point guard who thrives on distributing the ball.

With Monk on the floor, the offense flows much better—sometimes overly so—but it comes at the cost of defensive stability. Meanwhile, Keon’s defensive prowess and ability to force turnovers elevate our defense, yet offensively, teams like the Sixers tonight can exploit Domas’ hand-offs and force turnovers due to our lack of a natural distributor.

What we truly need is a player who can lighten Fox’s playmaking load without compromising on defense.

Hopefully, Devin Carter can be that player.
It definitely showed with the starting lineup tonight. Even when Sixers went big that lineup held up. Probably helps that Keon showed serviceable defense against the much larger Paul George.

probably doesn’t make a ton of sense to move Keegan to the bench, not wanting to alienate someone who’s a huge part of our future, but we have him locked up for a long time, and he’s currently a net negative

Some folks had wondered if benching Deebo would make sense, but we may have stumbled on another option. Altho I think Keegs will inevitably be moved back to the starting lineup

No throne but I like this new concept (on the roof?), and I have never seen the DPOG photo so crowded, all players, members of staff etc present.

The Dough Christie Effect.

The DCE was almost instant.

Something tells me Fox engineered this coup and advocated for Christie. The guys are unusually united, and quickly. I have no concerns about our team's morale as of this moment.

Fox never wanted to leave Sacramento. He just didn't want to play for Brown anymore.

Did Barbosa leave the team when they fired MB?
There is no (official) news, I can only find that he was among the candidates to be the interim HC but DC took the job at the end. Maybe he has a flue or something and missing from the photo? Haven't seen him on timeouts either, he usually sits next to Jimmy Alapag during the games.

Btw there were several times we could have gone for a challenge today but finally we took none. Especially late when Paul George drew a foul that he first pushed our player (Keon, Fox, forgot who it was) would be useful, but we stole the ball right after so it was a "ball don't lie thing" more or less at the end.
