25M for a young forward with the new cap who plays defense and shoots at a good percentage.

You’ll do no the point is to win not to be the cheapest payroll in the league.
You do win in the NBA by not putting bad money on your books.

Even in the new cap, this Cam Johnson deal is bad. He's an amazing shooter and a reasonable defender, but there's no playmaking, he doesn't rebound, he doesn't get to the line. BKN better hope his offensive game can take a leap and he can be a reliable #2 at this tag.

Sure will be interesting if we can squeeze in one more value signing and hang onto that TPE when teams start regretting all the big money that flew around today and need relief at the deadline with the new CBA rules in place.

and I don’t think he’s necessarily better than Barnes. I agreed fully with Dlo and KC on any Cam Johnson talk. Not that Johnson was ever seriously connected to the Kings outside of fan suggestion.

That is purely Cam Johnson being somebody new for the sake of somebody new.

They are basically the same player template. Their numbers are nearly identical. Johnson is younger but older than most would think. Yet, he’s worth $10 million more per season? Based on what?

Must be the Carl Landry fallacy. He puts up big scoring numbers in reserve minutes..so if you give him 10 more minutes he’ll be a big time scorer. They’ll regret his deal
