shoulda worked harder on my jumper in school

$40 million a year for a guard who has shot 40% from the field over the course of his career is insane. I selfishly hope that VanVleet ends up in Houston because he's going to take shots away from better players and depress their trade value and also because it will be a great test to see just how team-dependent a lot of these defensive metrics are.

apparently the Portland people in my twitter feed are going nuts about this.

When you are concerned about giving up a player like this and think you are one trade away from contention you have reached a new plane of delusion.
I’d be absolutely pissed if the Kings gave up on a 2nd year 22 y/o forward coming off 7.4pts 3.8rebs 2.1asts on 55/39.1/72 shooting splits.

He’s getting paid less than 2mpy for the next 2 years… with a team option.

They might be the worst team in the West next year so 1) I have a hard time putting stock in his numbers and 2) it doesn't change my point that the Blazers fanbase is delusional to worry about losing a Watford while eagerly trying to ship out just about every other young player to give Dame one last shot at glory.

LeBron, when Dillon Brooks comes to interview with the lakers:

Ohhh.

Zubac owns. Like really really hard. Amazing defender/rim protector, elite rebounder, elite efficiency. His literal only downside is he can't shoot.

That contract fits pretty well into our remaining space too. I would not mind that at all; just absolutely secure the back-up C slot with an amazing player that directly addresses some of our team needs.

Teams are so freaking dumb. LAL dumped him for nothing and now LAC, after him being a super effective role player for 4 years is about to dump him again.
