You guys realized not only was Mitchell's shooting 44% from 3, but he also improved from a whopping 32.4% the year prior.

One of MJ's most well known strength is his legendary work ethic.

What’s hilarious are many of these same fans complaining about the this team’s porous defense are the one’s complaining that they just draft the best on-ball defender in the draft. Go figure.

IDK whether Mitchell was drafted as part of another deal that has yet to materialize, but assuming not -- I have no problem drafting a player that might well help address a major weakness.

I also don’t know that Mitchell was BPA, but several of the analysts had him in their top 5. So if that’s the case and Monte McNair took BPA on his board — I can’t fault it at all.

That’s what a good GM should do. Take BPA and figure everything out later.
Is he taking Fox or TH's minutes?

The angst some of you have that Davion Mitchell won’t be very good or his size is going to be an issue is going to go away once you get the chance to watch him. Now the angst you have because we 13 guards on the roster, is legit. Trades are coming……..like there has to be trades.
Yeah, he's a decent prospect but the concern should be about the 3 guys involved at the G spot that are now the building blocks. Not any single 1 of them is the issue. Eh, but we've been down this road at the center spot a time or two as well. How'd that turn out? Or the SG spot? Oh, Benny Mac and Nik roks won't get in eachothers way at all says Pete! Yeah, yeah right.

In the last decade have you ever been disappointed on draft night and then happy with the pick a few years later?
Hmm, that's a good question. I was happiest with Cousins (I had him ranked #1), McLemore, and Fox (also ranked #1 I think?) and only two of them turned out great but as for picks that I hated and was wrong about? No, it hasn't happened yet. That doesn't mean I wasn't equally wrong on hyping guys we passed on though. I was convinced Stanley Johnson would be a star and he was a massive dud. I loved Kidd-Gilchrist and would have taken him if he was on the board. I loved Derrick Williams and we all know how that turned out. (I saw him recently getting blocked by Garuba twice on the same play). Oh and I also had Harrison Barnes ranked much higher than most and he's been solid but not a star.

I'm not over the moon that we got Mitchell but I love his attitude and hope it rubs off on the rest of the team. And if we want to get better defensively, we're not going to get there without adding good individual defenders. The thing I want to remind people about with this pick is that he's one ingredient, not the whole cake. Maybe he's a cup of sugar. But the important thing is that we get that ingredient right and don't dump a cup of salt in the mix instead. And in that regard, I'm happy with this outcome. I see little chance he makes our overall mix worse.

Maybe let the off season shake out and the other moves happen. I know you know you didn’t just compare Ben and Stauskas to these 3 guards. Completely different level of players.

Is this going to be yet another draft where the Kings make zero moves, stay exactly in their slot and draft a mediocre to poor player who just helps keep them on this same pathetic treadmill?

Sure seems like it so far.

There were so many options where I would have been okay with this front office's moves, but standing pat at #9 and drafting a backup PG is apparently the one to push my buttons.

It is exhausting to try and root for this team to even be average for one year after 15 years of being terrible.
What else would you expect with a team that thinks we already have our championship coach and backcourt of the future

The Kings still have a huge hole on the wing but that still has nothing to do with these 3. 3 lottery picks at the 1 or combo G is depthing. I'll say this, I hope Walton does give these 3 a chance to play together because for them to live up to their potential they have to. Otherwise someone is a 24 mpg player. Obviously that won't be Fox.
