I went to reddit and everyone from MIL like "justice"

Ok a-holes, you got a friggin title. We lost a player for nothing after having a deal we all thought was fair.

The compensation should be letting these deals go through and Atlanta giving us a player of our choice = or less than Bogi's value.

I can't help but think it was Bogi's side who had second thoughts about Milwaukee or the contract offered.

Atlanta filed a tampering complaint regardless of who ultimately killed the deal. Bucks lost a second rounder but that's a slap on the wrist when we were the ones who lost Bogi for nothing as a result.

Yet another example of NBA favoring the bigger market teams while small markets like Sacramento and Milwaukee get the brunt of the penalties and inability to make the trade.

These deals were as suspicious as the proposed SAC-MIL trade last off season but NBA chose to let them get done, then it will investigate. Sounds to me like a box ticking exercise where they can say they have done it but the timing of the investigations is rather telling.

Jones get released
-Bagley, if he stays on the team, experiment at the 5 is done. Looks like we consider him a strict 4.
-I think Metu stays on as the 5th big
-Queta most likely gets a 2-way
-It's not ideal, but if you keep the same big ball starting 5 (that was still pretty good together ) with either Buddy or Hali starting at the 2, Barnes-Harkless-Buddy-King is *enough* at the wing to get you by

Most likely just due to him being a rookie while Wright is already a well above average and established defender.

I don't think many of us are worried about Mitchell's defense moving forward but I definitely wouldn't put any money on his rookie defense being better than Wrights at this stage in his career.

Very likely Injury/load management from an old Lakers/Clippers team. Kawhi is most certainly going to miss a good chunk of the year. I'd bet my life savings that Russ/AD/Bron miss time due to injury and certainly will be load managed throughout the year. And my guess is PHX is planning to do the same with Cp3 throughout the year, even if he's able to dodge injury at 36 coming off a deep playoff run.

If we had to play the Pacific at full strength all 16 games, no, I'd probably bet the under or right at 5 wins max. But I'm guessing that won't be the case. And while they're all still better than us without their stars, the gap is significantly closer to where I wouldn't call those automatic losses.

I think they are talented enough to compete for a playoff slot and were last year as well. I should have prefaced ON PAPER and only if used properly. Now, this roster is fairly imbalanced in ways you really don't want to be and in ways that have plagued this franchise for what seems like forever but there is certainly talent on this squad.

Part of that used properly is committing to a defensive style that fits their personnel. If they are coming in as small as this team is overall then they need to pressure at all costs. And switch into even tighter pressure. Make every pass take an extra half a second. Monte thinks Davion can guard 1-4, good, lets see it.

If they aren't a legit playoff team after a month then that coaching change that probably should have come mid-season last year needs to, and then if Gentry or someone can't get this off the ground, time to rebuild. It just sucks because even though some of the signgings were fair value it might be hard to get out from under all of it in short order. Also, this franchise has a tendency to make things worse by sitting players they just invested in while hoping to find the quick fix.

our moves suggest all of our eggs are in the Hali Fox basket ( big trade for Siakam changes that). We need Fox to be an all star and Haliburton to be a borderline all star. If they don’t elevate their game ( Ty in particular) we will be stuck in the mud.

I think that GS is a bigger question mark than many want to believe. Klay hasn't played for 2 years and we have no idea where he is at. Him playing at a high level is a big part of how good they will be.

I said this year because he is a rookie and Wright is a very good defensive player. Mitchell could be great but he won’t be better as a rookie.

Rookies are almost universally bad on defense, no matter the position. It's just stuch a ridiculous jump in talent defending in the NBA compared to college/overseas, that there's just a natural adjustment period for basically everyone. Mitchell could absolutely be an exception with his player profile/age coming in, but it wouldn't shock or worry me at all if he wasn't good defensively next year.

Yep and Wright is an above average defender. It’s not to say Mitchell isn’t a potentially great defender but for him to be an average NBA defender would make him an exceptional rookie.

I would be concerned. His calling card is defense so he should be passable at the very least considering he'll be 23 and physically developed. If there are problems in relation to size or versatility that might be a bigger problem to do with the multi guard lineups which then becomes a very sticky situation overall.
