looks like 0 chance at Dunn now..especially since all of these teams have joined the sweepstakes.

Never had a chance to ask, who do you really like at 8? Given realistically, that they'll be there.

I like Baldwin quite a bit. And he DOES likely have a higher floor & lower ceiling but that's not exactly swinging for the fences! More like a line drive to the gap.

By my count we are 3rd on the pecking order here. Maybe Ainge will F it up by overvaluing his assets as always.

Ibaka can hit the 3, Noel is cheaper. Both have advantages
 
if there is a way to swing a Ibaka and picks coming to Sac, even if they are late firsts, sign me up. Noel then goes to OKC.
 
If we could swing 8 for Noel and 24+26 AND take on Lamb for 22. Then trade 24 for Beverly and use the 22nd pick to draft whoever drops of the following players:

Valentine
Murray
Baldwin
D. Jackson
F. Kormaz

I can't imagine a better draft night. For arguments sake lets say we can get Baldwin at 22 and Kormaz at 26 we would enter the season with this

PG: Beverly/Collison/Baldwin
SG: McLemore/Lamb/Kormaz/Bellinelli
SF: Gay/Cassipi/Butler
PF: WCS/Noel
C: Causing/KK

possibly bring back Acy

Now we can trade a myriad of KK, Marco, Collison, Gay, Ben and even take on some Salary or a bad contract back. It may not give us the prefect roster construction but man would we have a lot of pieces to move around.
 
Anyone exempt Brown, another SG who cannot shoot. Kings have to be one of the worst, if not the worst, evaluates of talent in the NBA. They already passed up the two best shooters in the draft: Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, while Jerry West was salivating in getting the best shooter in the draft at number 11. Trade up to get Hield. Under n0 circumstances draft Brown. If don't want to trade up, hope Murray falls to number eight.
 
The trouble with Ibaka is that he's got one year left at $12.3 million and then he can demand as much as 30% of the cap in free agency. With Noel we'd have him for one year at $4.3 million and then he becomes a restricted free agent with only 3 years of service time so he'll be much much cheaper to re-sign. Noel is the smarter pickup.

Oh, just in case some don't know, Divac is friends with the Sabonis family. Should be able to trade down to get him if, unfortunately, that is what Divac wants.

There's also the added advantage of the "thank God I'm finally out of Philly!" effect motivating Noel to have his best season yet. With Ibaka you'd have the "OKC didn't want me" chip on his shoulder though, so situational opportunity could be a wash. :)The restricted status is huge though. Ibaka seems like he'll be a tough re-sign under any circumstance with a bunch of established playoff teams lining up to get him next year.

I'm getting excited. Don't know what will happen, but regardless we'll have a new Sacramento King or two by the end of the day.
 
think we try to trade down to 12 with the Hawks but fail so we reach on Sabonis at 8. Vlade apparently really likes him and he's friends with Arvydas. Would be a meh pick but would fit the roster very well.

On the other hand I think Ibaka is on another level right now than Noel as a player and if we are going all in this season for DMC it's a great start.
I'm not that optimistic about Noel in general.

It's possible that the Kings have some other move set up that might move them up, and if so, and the move would get them Dunn, then I pass on the Philly offer. But if not, then I think I would take that deal. What surprises me is how little value the 76'ers are putting on Noel. Do they know something we don't?

That's a good question. God only knows who will fall to the eigth spot. If I had to guess it would be Brown, and while I think he has a very high upside, I think he's a risky pick. I don't look at him as an immediate contributor. Personally, if he's my choice, and I couldn't move down a couple of spots, then I would reach a little and draft Baldwin. I think he has a very high upside as well, and he's a safer pick. Of course three or four years from now I could be kicking myself for passing on Brown. Fun stuff that gets GM's fired.
 
I just hope we don't do something stupid like trade #8 and Ben for 21 and thank or trade WCS foe #15 and cash
 
If I was betting, I think there is a great chance that for all the twitter bluster, the Kings take BPA at #8 and that's it. Have seen this one before. Guessing Brown is the #8 guy.

Would be pleasantly surprised if there is any razzle-dazzle at all.
 
I think the Kings are trying to move up to get Murray or Hield. If they can't, and neither of them are available, I bet they're gonna try and trade down.
