Wolters was a first round pick for me even before this season started. Good to see people finally noticing.
Just what we need, another scorer...He probably will be a solid player, just not on this team, like Brooks.
This Baylor/Ok St. game is crazy. Pierre Jackson led Baylor back and it's level with 3 seconds left, but Ok St just got bailed out big time. At the line now.
Exciting game to watch. Jackson had a great game, but unfortunately it wasn't enough. Not a particularly great game for Smart. Didn't shoot the ball that well, and only a couple of assists to go with quite a few turnovers. He played good defense though. Right now, McLemore is probably number one on the mock draft boards, and deservingly so. He has a couple of holes in his game, but he could come in and contribute to a team right now. Smart is still rough around a lot of edges. Great athlete with tons of potential though.
Not a great game by Porter, but still very effective and solid. Should be a good one today between Georgetown and Syracuse..
Wolters is a PG, and a dammed good one. The only time he tries to score is when his team hits a roadblock, and needs a pick me up. You might want to watch a player play for a while before making statements about him. On a side note, I'am totally confused by a lot of the people on the fourms. They treat the ability to score the ball as though its a desease. Just in case there's some doubt about the game, the team that puts the ball in the basket the most times wins the game. The idea that you are seaching for a PG that can't shoot the ball and can't score if you need it just blows my mind. Chris Paul is an excellent PG, and last time I checked, he wasn't a bad scorer either.
The 2014 has the potential to be by far the most dominant class since 2003. I can't wait to see the '13 HS class in college. Wiggins, Parker, Andrew Harrison, and Randle all seem like potential all-stars to me. Obviously, who knows who will ultimately declare and how they will perform in college, but as far as I can tell right now, it can be a historic draft.
Sorry, just had to gush.

I think it's a side-effect of watching a team that's overflowing with guards who shoot the ball every time they touch it. If this were the Chicago Bulls fan board and we were desperate for someone who can score, it would be a different story. But you're right that it is reactionary and the fault doesn't lie with the players but with the roster. In fact, the reason I'm so in favor of trading Marcus Thornton isn't that I don't like him as a player, it's that there are other teams that need scoring and need SGs and he's a proven commodity. Incidentally it's more or less the same reason that any mention of an undersized PF, even a very productive one, around here elicits screams and death threats. (I might be exaggerating, slightly.)

Agreed on all counts. What do think of Cory Jefferson? And LeBryan Nash? I'd never been a fan of the latter, but I'd been semi warming to him over the past couple weeks as he's played some good games. However after seeing his interview after the game last night, I don't want him. He didn't say anything awful or anything like that, but he strikes me as having a bad attitude and thinking he's far better than he is.
Porter with a nightmare ending to his short career at Uconn.
If you're talking about Otto Porter he's on Georgetown not UCONN and the NCAA tournament hasn't even started yet so his college career is definitely not over. He made a mistake at the end of OT which cost his team a critical possession, but he also hit the two free throws which tied the game and sent it to overtime in the first place. He had a two week run where he was dominating everybody but the last week of the season he's reverted back to the at-times overly passive player who was projected as a mid first-rounder at the start of the season. McLemore didn't have a particularly good game today either. Cody Zeller maybe made up a little ground with his big game, but the top 6 or 7 guys in the draft are so evenly rated right now that a big tournament and combine could be what separates somebody from the pack. I wouldn't count out anybody yet.
I was talking about Otto, and you'll have to forgive me, it's extremely late here and I'm sleep deprived. Hey, I wasn't criticising Porter, I've had a chance to watch a few extra Georgetown games that I'd recorded and I'm in agreement with his supporters. He's pretty much the perfect fit for us at SF. And G'Town didn't get him the ball near enough to get him into a rhythm - no good giving him the ball late and expecting him to produce when he'd effectively been iced out of the game before that. This has been a tough week for a few prospects, with both Smart and McLemore (as you mentioned) playing worse than usual in their last games. As for the tournament, I have no idea what I was thinking as I can't even remember writing that.On that note, I should probably get some sleep!

I'm assuming your talking about Otto. Georgetown should make the tournament even though they didn't win their conference trounament, so its not quite the end of his career at Georgetown. The team that probably won't make the tournament now, after their loss to Vandy is the current NCAA champions, Kentucky. Damm shame! All they had to do was beat Vanderbilt, and they were in. Now, they're really on the bubble.
How do people feel about Anthony Bennett? He screams 'undersized dominant college PF who will struggle in the NBA' to me.
I wouldn't draft him under just about any scenario, but I'm curious what others think of him. Am I missing something?

Darth Divac said:SF is what I think of him.
Bennett could potentially be built into a good NBA SF. He's 6'7" with 7'1" wingspan, 230 pounds. That makes him perfect for SF, but undersized for PF.
He shoots 54% from mid range. He likes to operate from the triple-threat position and drive down to the basket, but need to improve his free throw, his passing and ball-handling.
Another thing I'd be worried about him is that he has athleticism (he's strong and fast enough to overpower a lot of NBA SF) but not very motivated to defense.
He actually reminds me of another UNLV alma mater Larry Johnson...
Leonard had better handles and passing, plus his physical profile with better quicks and less strength fit well into NBA SF model.First off, if I knew he'd be another Larry Johnson, I'd draft him in a heartbeat. That dude was almost unstopable under the basket. I saw him screw one player after another into the floor. But that aside, I pretty much agree with everything you said. He has all the makings of SF except for a few holes in his game for that position. In some ways he reminds me of Kawhi Leonard, who played PF at San Diego St. I always thought of him as a SF and thats where he's playing today. He was knocked for similar reasons as Bennett.
There's no doubt that Bennett would be a bit of a project for a while, but as you stated, he has a good midrange game, and he's a good straight line attacker of the basket. He's not at the top of my list, but he's certainly a talent.
