2006 Sacramento Kings Roster

In case you've forgotten...the Monarchs are the only Sac. team to win a championship..and what teams won gold in the past olympics?? The women's softball, soccer and basketball teams. I don't think the men's baseball team even qualified, the soccer team was knocked out and we all know about the basketball team..who would certainly win a gold medal for arrogance and whining.

The comments were insulting and out of line IMHO.

That's fine that you disagree. But bashing men's sports in general is equally out of line.

I'm just perplexed from a biological standpoint...since when are mammary glands considered genitalia?

But, hey! How about that roster, huh?

:o

Gee, too bad about the roster thread...maybe we need to split something off or close this one and try again?

Ok - I must say Brick that you surprised me with your attitude today. I have never heard you "female bashing" before - and IMO you certainly were. As I read the thread - I spotted it in your comments before even reading anyone else's response. Did someone (female) mess with you today? Get up on the wrong side of the bed? Or what? Because once it was pointed out that you were offending some people you just carried right on w/the same attitude.

As it has been pointed out many of the kingsfans posters are female. One of the reasons I for one really like Kingsfans is because I am not treated as a stupid female or treated with some condenscending macho attitude because I love basketball. Listen some time to sports radio and how women are treated when they call in if you think that is not the case.

I respect and admire you Brick and I have learned a tremendous amount of basketball information from you (and all the other posters here - male & female) but today I must say I think you were being a pooh head.

coming from a guy one of the worst things is this world is the view of sexism...

females and males will always be equal to me... its the way i was raised, the way i was born, what i was taught by my parents, or what i saw from my dads treatment on my mom...

and yes ^ i agree brick was being way out of line...

females deserve just as much recognition in sporting acheivements as men do, and although atm they dont recieve as much attention for it, it certainly has improved, and will continue to improve in the future...

Then don't you think the women should play with the men? Why have 2 leagues from your point of view?

I do agree with what you said, and we have come a long way. And I also think it will continue to improve. Mens sports have a long timeline of history. It will take some time for women to develop theirs.

i dont mean equal as in like physically equal, but as in the terms of getting the same opportunities, that men do...

its just the nature of the beast, in that there are two leagues.... we cant do anything about that, and it is not sexist in saying that men are genrally stronger is a physical point of view... its just saying the truth, and the most likely reason why there are two leagues...

in my basketball team in my local comp we have a few girls on our team, and their just as good if not even better... our strating 4 kills me down the post but then again im a 1 but still...

and women leagues now a days are getting recognised more and more, and we everyone should continue to support it...

i mean the world cup in soccer women, or the introduction of a female competition in an olympic sport such as waterpolo in the 1990's olympics...

who knows, mabye gradually men and women will play in the same competitions...

er...no. Not in anything where physicality and athleticism is paramount. Nor should that be the standard or goal, anymore than it should be the goal to abolish weight classes in boxing so that 135lb guys have to fight 220lb guys. Sometimes separate IS equal in that it lets everybody compete on a level playing field and have a legit shot at victory + glory. Its sometimes fun + interesting to see Anika Sorenstam or whoever enter a men's golf tournament -- which of course is a sport/game a long way down there on the athleticism/physicality scale. It would be no fun at all to abolish the LPGA and force the best women golfers in the world to go from striving for glory to striving to make the cut every week.

Being equal doesn't mean being the same. It means valuing the differing skills and ablities inherent to each sex equally. Equality is granting each person the respect, freedom and opportunity to be the best he or she can be and recognizing we all benefit.

exactly ^

men and women have strengths in different areas..

eg. men may usually be physically stronger, but boy are they **** at multi-tasking...

That's cool and all with women's sports if that's your thing. I went to a Monarchs game last year and it wasn't bad, but come on...men and women on the same team. Maybe in the military which is a huge thing for women, but they really need bodies out there who can hold/shot a gun and survive.

In the NBA women refs make me nervous enough, let's keep it at that. ;)

Back on topic since this is a roster thread, are we thinking about signing a chick? I know it was mentioned in another thread about Brad female parts, or the lack of male parts in his defending. :-)
