2005-2006 Kings Leading Scorer

I will bet that Bibby averages less than 12 ppg, 4 apg, and 2 rpg.

Hint, that's not price per gram, aapplications per gallon, or rocket propelled grenades.

that would be trouble

I'd say peja till we get to the playoffs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Peja led the Kings in scoring in the playoffs last year, and that his scoring increased during the playoffs (relative to his regular season avg.)

we lost hence it was not enough

We all know that was because of 1 game. He was having his normal crappy playoffs, and then suddenly had the game of his career in Game 5. He played a great game. But that's game singular. In 7 years of playoffs.

hmmmmmmmm..................i would hope bonzi would lead the team, because then that means he won't be whining about minutes played.

:D

Peja will be our leading scorer.

I think he will be great in the playoffs this year. Then again I always think the Kings would win the championship every year.

I'm down on a Bibby a little these days, but I can't see how he could average less than 15. His shot is off right now, but he'll get open shots during the season. In fact I'll change my vote and think he'll be the leading scorer simply because he's a lock to have the ball in his hands more than the others.

Same for the rest of the team and Bibby. They gave it their all that night with what they had (which was known and clearly not full).

He's had a few great games in the 7 years. Unfortunately, he is just as capable of stringing together a few clunkers. The same could be said for Bibby, although his big performances tend to lead the team to victory so he doesn't get knocked for it as much.

I'd like to see Stojakovic improve his FG% over last year. He should be the Kings leading scorer, if only because none of the other guys are huge scorers themselves. I wouldn't be surprised to see 20, 17, 17, 16, 13, 12 from Stojakovic, Bibby, Abdur-Rahim, Wells, Miller and Thomas. (And of course injuries are going to inflate the per-game averages for the year.)

I agree.

I strongly suspect the LAST person on the team we'll hear any whining from would be Bonzi Wells. It is clear - even with so few games played - that Bonzi truly realizes the opportunity he has been given and he's going to make the most of it.

I am very impressed with Mr. Wells.

Well I You want to be the "first option", "main man" and "max out" - Your responsibilities increase. Same goes for Bibby but we were talking about Pedja so...

I really don't care who gets the most points out of the bunch, I would prefer bibby, and maybe peja so he asks for that outrageous contract and gets cut like yesterdays lawn.

Wells, contract year!
Peja, contract year!
KT, wants to prove he should start
SAR, wants to prove that New Jersey was wrong
Bibby, once his first trip to the All*Star game

You can choose from that list. But my vote is for Peja, 24 ppg (I think he’ll get to line a couple more time a game this year)

I still feel the same. Oh well.

Yeah, I'm definitely sure Bonzi will get a career-high in minutes. As most previous were of course in his middle Portland seasons: 01-02: 31.7 and 02-03: 31.9.

Thomas 9.1 ppg
Hart 5.1 ppg
Martin 4.7 ppg

Skinner's offensive game is refined, he should probably double your prediction...I'd say about 7pts. Especially since Brian has seemed to really get his touch from the line...that can only help us, because he is in the paint so much getting fouled, so that will add to his pt. totals, too.

The Skinner free-throw improvement is huge. His shot looks five hundred percent better. If he can shoot in the high 60's it actually makes him an offensive threat.

Yeah, I agree.

bibby is the new wilt

You got that more or less right. Bibby has indeed wilted, and poor defense was his demise. When Kings management officially decided to worry about team and individual defense, it was the death knell for our Arizona Wildcat.

?????

I sure wouldn't be tossing dirt on him quite yet.

He is one of the premiere PGs in the league. Those don't grow on trees. His court sense is unquestioned; his ability to run the give and go is one of the best around. He can cut behind a screen and burn a defender among the very best. I really don't see why people seem to want to write him off because of his lack of defense.

Yes, it would be nice if he could guard his man better but it would also be nice if Peja got a rebound once in a while.

My point isnt to compare Bibby to Peja OR Peja to Bibby, but to remind us that everyone has weaknesses. The team Petrie has apparently assembled this time goes a long way towards filling in the gaps and overlapping the weak areas.

Bibby's a top 5 PG. Bad defender or not.

Who knows what the season can bring with that ;).

As far as Peja's rebounding goes, it'd be nice if he gets 5(even 4)-7 boards a game in pre-season, but I'm just not worried about it because it's pre-season. Same deal for SAR, both aren't just gonna start averaging 2-3 rebs a game during the season, that's ridiculous. I'm thinking Peja'll be back to the 5-6 area this season. Plus now I think the last two games, especially the last, he's getting his stuff back.

This year is not Peja's contract ending. If he wants to end the contract, not this year but year after that he can.

Peja: 21
Bibby: 16
Miller: 15
Wells: 14
Shareef: 16
Thomas: 9

This is the way, I am thinking it!

I must have missed that part given that we have now put ogether a team with exactly ONE (1) guy who MIGHT be called a good defender out of our Top 6 players.
