Hockey sucks ... or does it? (split)

You lost my respect when you said that you watch the Monarchs over any Hockey (let alone championship quality hockey from the only hockey team in NorCal). :p Most people I know that don't like Hockey either don't understand it or never gave it a legitimate chance (usually both).

Kings Select in the 2008 NBA DRAFT??

You think we might make the playoffs? We would have needed to win 50 games this year to make the playoffs and there still was no guarantee. We are quite a ways away from winning 50 games in today's Western Conference. Teams in the West that are beter than us: Lakers, Hornets, Spurs, Jazz...

Kings Select in the 2008 NBA DRAFT??

I would love for the Kings to find a way to get Ibaka. But I would not like to trade down to do it. I would much rather see us parlay some of our depth for a late first-rounder. Another 2nd rounder doesn't do much for me either. We already have two and both of them aren't as close to the end of...

Kings Select in the 2008 NBA DRAFT??

Nice post. When it comes to work ethic, I'd like to think that money/fame/prospect of more money are plenty motivators for young talent entering the league. These guys don't see a penny in college and when it comes to the lievelyhood of themselves and their families, more players find a way to...

Kings Select in the 2008 NBA DRAFT??

It's not that I'm against R.Lopez...he has good size and length, decent athleticism, and has the best chance to come in and rebound/defend right away. But I'd still rather have Spreights, McGee or Thompson as the prospective PF of our future. All three have higher ceilings than Lopez. And...

Kings Select in the 2008 NBA DRAFT??

Not an insider...can you transcribe the article? Or break down the gist of it?

    Kings/Nets/Raptors

True, but maybe a team like Toronto would ask a guy like A. Parker to come off the bench behind Salmons. Parker is 32 years old and is in his 5th NBA season. He can give them quality minutes off the bench, especially as a deep threat (shot 43.8% from downtown this season).

    Kings/Nets/Raptors

We were talking about Salmons to Toronto, not the original trade which had him going to the Nets.

    Kings/Nets/Raptors

Salmons' stats/40 as a starter are a little bit higher than what your figures show: 18.4 pts, 5.7 rebs, 3.7 ast, 2.8 TO, 1.6 stl, .4 blk Don't get me wrong, I understand your point. If I were Toronto, I would start Salmons at the 2 and Moon at the 3 and give Salmons backup minutes at SF to...

    Kings/Nets/Raptors

Exactly why they need some help. They have good enough players to make the playoffs in the east, but they won't do any damage until they get deeper. Kapono and Delfino are not depth, they are pine-riders. If I were Toronto and I traded for Salmons, I would give Salmons, Moon and Parker 32...

    Kings/Nets/Raptors

Delfino is a SG, and he is not that good. As I recall, the original Salmons-to-Toronto trade idea was under the premise that Salmons would fill Toronto's need for a starting SF. They have A. Parker at SG and J. Moon at SF but bringing in Salmons would still be an upgrade at either position and...

Kings Select in the 2008 NBA DRAFT??

Assuming Jordan, Westbrook and Randolph are taken at our pick I like McGee, Spreights and I wouldn't mind reaching for Thompson if he looks like he is going closer to mid-first rather than late-first. If I had to pick one today, it would be McGee. McGee: Called a "late-bloomer" that was...

Who should we get with the MLE?

Go check out that other thread. We have no one close to the top 10 rebounders in the league. Diop is ranked #14 and by signing him, our FO would be showing the fans that they do recognize our team's shortcomings and are trying to address them. Miller is ranked #22 on that list. And he's the best...

Who should we get with the MLE?

DeSagana Diop Rebounds, blocks shots, plays defense, finishes well around the hoop. Would eat up backup minutes behind Hawes which would officially give us sufficient pretext to trade Miller. Could even see minutes at PF next to Hawes. As for PG, I like a trade with Toronto for Ford. If...

    Mo Williams?

I like it. I'll try to up you one...:D Salmons, Moore, A.Johnson(s&t 1yr/$3M) and our first 2nd round pick for Ford, Kapono and their first round draft pick Calderon/Johnson Parker/Delfino Salmons/Moon Bosh/Moore Nesterovic/Bargnani They do it because they get 1 quality starter and 2...

    A look at Hawes competition:

I believe Theus made a point about needing to improve our rebounding in the offseason. I take that to mean he will get us to rebound better as a team and individually. And I hope he convinces GP that we need to draft the best defensive rebounding big available with our first pick.

    A look at Hawes competition:

Comparing Oden/Love to Hawes just because they were all 19 is a bit short-sided. Oden is the biggest athletic freaks since D.Howard and Love weighs 265 and isn't even 20 years old. Both of those guys had special advantages that allowed them to be such prolific rebounders at such a young age...

    A look at Hawes competition:

Hawes not rebounding well in college is more indicative of him only being in college for one year, than it is indicative of his future career in rebounding. He was 19 when we drafted him? The killer instinct should come from our PF IMO, or whomever we pair with Hawes. He can't get...

    Quincy Douby

Everyone keeps bringing up the fact that he is way too far down the pecking order at SG (not to mention undersized) and the fact that he is not a true PG. I agree with all of this. But I do think he can become an asset for this team. And it would be as a backup PG. If Garcia is our 6th man...

    Quincy Douby

He gets a lot of criticism around here because we wanted him to be a PG when he is clearly a OG. Tonight he deserves some honors for the excellent effort and the (what I presume to be) career scoring night. Congrats Q! He really showed tonight why he can be an asset to his team, coming off...
