Yeah, he can field multiple offers but once he signs one of them it's basically a binding contract. Restricted status means we can match that contract and he stays in Sacramento or we can pass and he goes to New Orleans. I'd be surprised if he signs a $40 million dollar offer on day 1 of free agency, but maybe he does it expecting Sacramento to match?
All this likely is is a starting point. 4/40 is where the bar is set as a minimum contract and whether it's the Kings or someone else, that's where negotiations will start.

Here's a wildcard though, he was offered 4/40 as a bench player, 6th man. I bet that goes higher for teams wanting him starting in the backcourt.

the only team i would be worried about is dallas...they have the cap, he can play PG for them, they seem to be third in the dwight howard race and may get desperate when they lose.
Mavericks just made an offer to a PG from Israel. I don't know if that affects the need for Tyreke but it's just worth mentioning.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't we negotiate a S&T with NO as well if Reke agreed to an offer sheet? So we could still conceivably get assets back for Reke
If all he's done is agree to sign an offer sheet, but not actually signed it. Then yes, we could then negotiate a sign and trade.

A lot of dough. RT @daldridgetnt: Have been told the Pelicans' sheet to Tyreke Evans is four years, $44 million.

So, 11M per as a 6th man. That goes higher as a starter likely.

He cant sign until the 10th. All he can do is give a verbal agreement.

Recent reports say Pelicans offered 4 years 44 mil. Obviously that isn't a signed deal, so we can't technically match it, but if Evans signs that you match it every time.

Now Amick says its 4 years 48 mil, and that Kings wouldn't match either. Welp.

Capt is right. If Tyreke is willing to sign an offer sheet then there's no basis for a sign-and-trade. The only real reasons to do a S&T are to either get that fifth year on a max deal or to entice a team to send a guy to a capped out team as opposed to losing him to a team with caproom with no compensation. Neither scenario exists with Tyreke and the Kings & Pelicans.

Now if (just as an example) Tyreke SAYS he's going to take the New Orleans deal unless the Kings sign-and-trade him to Detroit THEN you see the leverage that's possible in free agency with the S&T.

We'll see.
Sign and trades don't get the 5th year anymore.

In this case it would be in Evans best interest to do a sign and trade if it means freeing up playing time for himself.

Differing reports. One says offer sheet is for 40 mil, other says it is for 44. BIG difference. Cant get to 44 without moving more than GV

I've been told 4 years, approx $48 million on Evans' offer. @daldridgetnt has it at $44 million. Either way, doubt Kings would match either.

$11/year is right where I start squirming a bit. But around 2/3 of the respondents in the personnel moves forum poll said they'd match $11/year and up.

After meeting with the first team it looks as if the price tag for Evans is going to start at around 11m a year.
Hopefully the Pistons and any other teams will not want to raise the price tag...but in bidding wars you never know how things are going to go.
I felt reasonably confident that the floor was going to be around 10m a year...and I'm a bit saddened to see that being the case.

If it stays at 11m a year I am optimistic that we match...but if it gets into the 12m +....I'd be hopeful but not overly optimistict.

We'll have to wait and see

I keep forgetting that.

Tyreke and his agent now apparently have a lucrative offer from the Pelicans. That means he can either sign that offer sheet and force the Kings to match OR use the Pelican's offer as leverage to try and force the Kings to sign-and-trade him to a team he prefers under the threat of losing him for nothing.

Should be and interesting (and relatively stressful) few days.

They can't really be waived to create cap space, though, because of the "roster charge" on the cap which fills out the roster to 12. I believe two of those players are at the minimum salary anyway, so there's no point, and two of them would save about $100K each if waived.
If Tyreke is looking for 11 or 12 mil in starting salary, then the only way I can see New Orleans accomplishing it is by the Kings taking back some salary. If we took back Vasquez and Lopez, then the deal would work under their cap. If all we took back was Vasquez, who makes $2,150,188.00 this coming season, they may be able to squeeze the deal in under their cap. I'm not for losing Tyreke, but if that deal came to pass, and we were then to amnesty Salmons, we would around $21,912,960.00 under the cap, unless I'm missing something. That would be more than enough to sign Iggy, or whomever. This includes getting rid of our cap holds of course.

So technically nobody knows the real number, but the Pelicans roster can't really absorb 4/48.
Interesting.

Vasquez isn't that good. Quickly becoming an overrated PG on Kingsfans. It's funny how some around here judge talent.

I smell a sign and trade or we match. Hoping we match.

It sure feels like something around Vasquez and Evans is going to get talked about. Which I'm not for, by the way. Just feels like that's were we are headed.

Source close to Evans believe that the #sackings don't think Reke is worth $40 mil+ that the Pelicans are reportedly offering.

For all you Vaquez fans, there's a reason NO quickly replaced him with Holliday and there's a reason they're concentrating on getting Reke. Does all this sound like a team with that much confidence in their own PG?

with how stacked they are in the frontcourt the pelicans must see something really special in tyreke to offer him this kind of cash. that or a deal to move gordon is already in place. 12M is steep but I still say you match that, people who say let him walk are forgetting that this is sacramento.

Very much so. He'd be a nice 3rd guard but you swap those two talents and you come out way behind. You could argue the cap difference could be used for someone else, but we don't have a great track record with free agents and you'd still have Vasquez coming up for a new deal soon.

Looks like the anti-Reke crowd may get their wish.

Tyreke for 4/40 or 4/44 is a way better deal for the Pelicans than the max they gave Eric Gordon. If Reke will really be a 6th man and they keep Gordan, the Pelicans would lock up all their cap and flexibility and at the end, struggle to even make the playoffs.

The NBA guys on twitter who are so incredibly shocked by the reported numbers for Evans are embarrassing themselves. Look at other players with his numbers at his age and what they got. Add in the fact that he has been a member of the worst organization in sports over his entire career... Give me a break.

I'm willing to let this play out for a bit. It's not in management's interest to say they'd match the price, as that will further drive up the price.
