Mastrov sold 24 Hour Fitnesss Center for $1.6 billion. He needs to "only" buy the Maloof's portion of the team. I believe he bid $420 million for the Warriors so he has enough money to buy the Maloof's portion. Also the 25 or so local people chipping in a million or so apiece lowers what Mastrov has to come up with. They will try to buy the portion in banckruptcy unless I heard it wrong. I presume if they don't have the entire amount to buy that portion that Mastrov would make up the difference. I'd rather that the deeper pocketed Burkle owned the Kings but there are some conflict of interests issues involved none of which I remember.

Now onto some of the nitty gritty but critical details. Like how is quarter million dollars that city had approved for parking concession for what is now dead "Railyard arena" going to play into new downtown mall arena project. Which can't start until team is sold to Mastrov. If the city wants a partnership with Burkle is parking concessions the way to get it - or something else. Is Mastrov bid for entire 65% Maloof ownership of Kings or is city partnering with him in some way as well - like Natomas property? Hopefully, Mastrov bid will be made public or at least overall details spelled out soon - very soon. Mastrov is key since Burkle can't do much unless BoG of NBA approve him over Hanson-Ballmer Seattle group.
We need to have a little bit more patience. Now that the potential ownership group has been made public, they will begin the negotiations with the city to answer those questions to the satisfaction of the city council AND the NBA.
I have the utmost faith in how KJ is handling this. It is truly reminiscent of how Clinton's campaign (which was in part choreographed by Chris Lehane - sound familiar?) led to his success.

You guys know the rules. If you have a complaint or feel a post was inappropriate, use the "refer a post" option. In this instance, it was one comment in the heat of the moment. If people didn't continue to bring it up, it would already be ancient history.

You're right! Didn't mean to put a dampener on it! We should celebrate for now. It's a good night to be a Kings fan. It really couldn't have gone any better and that's all we can ask for at the moment!
Mastrov is worth far, far more than 350m. He wouldn't even be in the conversation for buying an NBA team if that was his worth. Relax, and try not to worry.

My question at this point would be how the revenue for games at the arena is going to be divided if Burkle is commiting the capital to build the arena but isn't a part of the ownership group for the Kings. But that's something for the relevant parties to discuss and agree on. I would guess that the arena deal KJ and the city planners previously negotiated with the NBA would be used as a model there for what's appropriate.
