Free Agency has started !!

With the Nash trade, Ramon Sessions is still in play. Though that would mean no minutes for Jimmer, but I'm not really confident about going into the season without a true backup PG.

As ESPN reported, Goran Dragic agreed to a 4 year, $34M deal with the Suns. Rockets decided that was "too rich" and let him go, source says.

Wow, Suns are right up there for "busiest offseason" so far with the Nets/Hawks.

Dragic isn't Nash but that's a great, and possible long-term solution for them at PG.

That's interesting -- Houston reportedly offered Dragic $8 million a year so that's $32 million over 4 years and then they declined a $34 million dollar offer sheet? I guess they must not have wanted him back that badly after all. Maybe they decided Jeremy Lin was a better fit for them. Or maybe they only wanted to go 3 years. Houston is in the middle of a complete overhaul. At this point I don't think I could name even one starter for them next season. All the returning guys are on the block and they've traded half their bench for rookie replacements.

Kyle Lowry is now off the market, and I'm glad because I'm tired of you people underrating Isaiah Thomas and writing off Jimmer.

I'm really looking forward to finding out what paltry sum the Raptors toss out to get a near All Star quality PG. Couldn't use a player like that on our team, no sir. We're set.

Ric Bucher: Source: teams still w/ a shot at Mayo (Mavs, Rockets, Pacers, Clippers, Knicks and Suns) + Kaman (Mavs, Pacers, Spurs, Kings and Jazz) Twitter

and we're after Kaman? Ok, the picture is looking clearer. We're going after offense, not defense. This is just, weird. AK is out there and we're going after Anderson and Kaman. Good players, but highly, highly question the fit of either.

Personally, I'd rather hear we're talking to AK and/or Ilyasova. Just my opinion. Those two can defend and play multiple positions in at the 3 and 4.

Fixed.

If the Kings do end up with Kaman + Anderson, it probably means JT is a gon'er (or S&T) or the Kings have amnestied Salmons. I'd definitely choose the second option, but highly unlikely.

sorry didn't see you mention Kaman

I had made a new thread...again sorry

Kaman and Kirelinko

Cousins/Hayes
Kaman/Robinson
Kirelinko/Honeycutt
Evans/Thorton
IT/ Bobby Brown

Looks pretty good...

As good as it is not to throw piles of money at middling players, it's getting pretty old to see teams improve in the offseason while we seem content with treading water year in and year out.

You have to consider the source. This isn't coming from the Kings, of that you can be assured. Petrie doesn't advertize what he's doing. It could be as simple as someone asking Kaman where he might want to play, and him listing a bunch of teams, which included the Kings. I might add though, that Kaman isn't that bad a defender who averaged over 2 blocks a game not that long ago. He's also a better athlete than some realize. Why would he list the Kings you ask. Well, he might want to stay on the west coast.

You do realize that freeagency just started, and that the Kings can't really do anything until the JT situation is resolved, one way or the other. For all we know they could have deals lined up and ready to go, depending on the outcome of JT's contract.

If we field a better team next year, I will gladly retract my statement and admit I was wrong. Until they prove me wrong, I'm sticking to it.

Just venting my frustration

I wouldn't call arbitrarily throwing money at the first free agent you see improving.

Think he also hunts with Brad, who still has a house outside Sac, and given he's a fan of wildlife and hunting could add to it.

If I'm not mistaken, Brad actually lives out here in Sacramento now that he's retired.
If he does, I'd love him to work with Cuz every once in awhile to help him in running a high post offense, or even just being a better passer/screener from the elbow/wing which Brad was great at in his prime. Sure Brad picked some things up from Vlade/Webb and it would be great if they were passed down to Cuz.

Cuz has the talent to tear apart defenses with his jumper and passing, just needs direction/experience. Have to think Brad would help.

As long as he doesn't offer Demarcus any of his special herbal medicine.

Yes he is! He is also a ridiculously bad defender who often sat in crunch time with Chicago.
Not sure we can be that picky. Unless we mean as a full time starter. That doesn't work. But Korver is an obvious choice as a rotation guy who could add some seriosu shooting to a team without a single dependable guy form out there.
