[NBA] Comments that don't warrant their own thread (2011-2012 season)

Tonight only five players scored for OKC and they won the game against the Suns.

During the Wizards/LA game they had a moment that summed up their season. Nick Young went up for an uncontested dunk and had the ball slip of his hands and go over the backboard into the fans. They still managed to come back from 21 to steal the win thanks to Kobe missing 22 shots.

I'm here in Southern California in Monterey Park the only non commercial China town in the US. Huge Chinese community with the feel of being in a different country. Through less than six degrees of separation I've met people who grew up with Jeremy Lin and one girl who even turned him down while he was at Harvard because he was too young.

So that had to have been the most harmless looking ACL tear in NBA history. Honestly looked like Rubio only hyperextended his knee. Not good news for the Twolves if true.

That sucks. There goes the Olympics as well. That really sucks.

I've seen a few of freak injuries during my athletic career, and oddly enough, the ACL tears and achilles tendon tears usually happen without any contact at all. Scary when you think about. Just like when Webb blew out his knee, he was all alone going for a layup.

Hope Ricky recovers. Huge blow for Spain.

Huge blow to the T-Wolves. With K-Love kind of ailing, they aren't exactly looking too super right now, even with Rick Adelman

This is however often when Adelman is at his best. He doesn't look or spound the part, but he's got a long history of rallying the troops to ovecome injuries.

Probably a good thing they did not trade Ridnour before Rubio's injury though.

Sucks for Rubio and Minnesota, they were having a great season too. at least ACL tears aren't the career threatening injury that it used to be. I anticipate Rubio to be back next season just as good or close.
Rubio's game wasn't exactly based on his explosive athleticism either, although he certainly can't afford to get slower.

Rajon Rondo never watched the NBA growing up and his first game he experienced was a 2006 Miami Heat playoff game. He never watched Hakeen do the Dream Shake and always thought of that as his move. He never seen any of the big 3 play in their physical primes and they get on him about that all the time.

He only got serious about basketball when he noticed his friend Josh Smith was getting attention from scouts and felt he was just as good as him. That was right before his last year in high school.
