Thanks. Considering I don't have any previous experience with tickets, I'll be making a few calls/trips to the courthouse to figure all of this out. But thankfully, I have untill the end of July to worry about them
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "clearing the ticket up", but you can still go to traffic school to avoid having the state put the ticket on your record (and thus report it to your insurance company). You can only do traffic school once every 18 months, I think, and you have to pay extra for the privilege of doing it (on top of the traffic school fees) but it still probably saves you on the insurance.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- California courts will no longer erase traffic violations from a driver's record, even after that driver has attended traffic school.
Under a new law taking effect Thursday driver's who receive a traffic citation can still attend traffic school to prevent insurance companies from being notified of the violation.
However, AB 2499 changes the way that citation is recorded on a driver's record. The record will now show a conviction not a dismissed citation.
The DMV said the change was intended to erase a loophole in the prior law.

That loophole explanation doesn't make any sense. Why wouldn't they just put "dismissed - traffic school" in the file?
Or why don't they just make it so insurance companies can't raise the rate on one-time offenders of minor traffic laws? The traffic school isn't going to keep people from going 70 in a 65 if its with the flow of traffic. In Oregon they don't typically give traffic school and I got dinged for merging onto a freeway at 35 MPH because I was still on the city street when I began accelerating. By a camera. Unbelievable. Its stuck on my record and I am dreading to see what happens next month when I get my newly revised bill.
It took me a few weeks, but I watched every single episode of Numb3rs on netflix, and I am this close to an irrational sense of loss. It feels a bit like the time my brother walked out the door for armed service :/
Four more days until my trip to Hong Kong, Singapore (where english is amazingly the main language) and Thailand. Been working like a week straight to meet a deadline though and had to cram in a reroot canal.

My mom within the past month has found quite a few family members on Facebook. Some of them including my mom's uncle and sister live in Sacramento. They really want to see my mom whom they haven't seen since she was younger, and since she doesn't want to go alone, she's bringing me along. That won't happen until the end of February, but still I'm excited anyway
Check out some of her pictures at Webshots. The name is Mackate57. Go to the bottom of her second page of albums. She takes some really nice pictures, although she has a much nicer camera and equipment now than when they visited China and Southeast Asia. Photography is a hobby for her.
My brother's is hiking every chance he gets. If you look at some of the other pics, any pictures with a (b) at the end of the name are ones taken by my brother.
She and my brother have lived in an RV for about 5 years now. They move to a different place about every month. They've stayed pretty much west of the Rockies.
Have a wonderful time!
Edit: Looks like Kate has taken to putting my brother's hiking pics in a separate album more recently.
Singapore is a much more expensive place than the USA. 15 to 20 dollars for a box of ice cream sandwiches.
I'm in Bangkok right now. I was in Pattaya, Thailand.
It is a dense city kind of like the kind you find in the Bay area but with a South American feel and it is full of prostitues. School kids walk by while the prostitutes yell out to you. It is just the way of life down here in this part of the country. I felt like a woman walking past a construction site. You see really nice looking girls in clubbing type outfits (or conversely strange looking lady boys or just boys in general) walking with gross old men wearing shorts and tank tops and you can tell what is going on.
Having fun though. I'm walking around taking pictures with my DSLR and video dangling from my neck and I'm just capturing as much of the candid images and video of the culture as possible.

My e coli infection has ruined the mood for this trip. I had fever and chills on the plane to Hong Kong and felt like I was going to die. I just read antibiotics may not be good for this but it is too late since I started my dosage. It's so humid and we are moving around from place to place so much it's draining me. I hope by tomorrow I'll be fine since the fever is gone.
As soon as I was over the e coli I caught a cold  Couple nights back was the Lunar/Lantern Festival but my battery died and I missed out on some nice images.
I'm really surprised that there are on Hong Kong Kings fans on this site. From the looks of it, Mamba boy is the only basketball player that exist ever. No other ads with any other players (I saw a shirt with Durant on it but he was drawn as a cartoon riding a bike). No wonder why there are so many band wagon fans for that team.
I truly loved watching the incredible show last night as Mother Nature lit up the night sky with an hour of breath-taking lightning, to the point where it was as bright as day at times. The thunder rolled and rolled, almost without pause. A true display of the power that exists in nature. The only downside was knowing that there would be numerous spot fires started. Luckily, at least in this part of the forest, all is well.
