I like the eccentric weather down here. A few days of Spring allergies and heat followed by a few days of hail, thunder and tornado warnings.
Makes life interesting, doesn't it?

(Unless you live in tornado alley, of course. Then it just makes life scary and dangerous.)

I think a drive by shooting just happened. Cops are outside, but no ambulances so that's a good sign. I've heard gun fire at night in the past but usually in the distance, this was right outside. I can't wait until I move out of here in the fall. I hate how some parts of Sacramento are still stuck in this 90's gangbanger ****.

I'm going to move within the area. Where on earth do you live???? I don't want a neighborhood where gunfire can be heard.

I thought you were moving out of Sacramento, Glenn?
Life changes and sometimes abruptly. The only constant is that I am moving. In the end, I decided I'd rather be near my kids who are Californians than the other 95% of my family. I'm the only one to stray from the MN/WI area.

Yes, it does and so do neighborhoods. This occurrence isn't casual but I have taken noticed to it more these past few years (a couple times is too many) with all the law enforcement cuts. I've heard some shots before, probably along Folsom Blvd in the distance but this was the closest ever. I live within a 9 mile radius of Carmichael, so I'm already a leisurely drive away from where you may be already at.

I considered putting this in the Wrestling thread, but since it's not actually about wrestling, I decided to put it here instead:

Our 8 year old son is getting ready for a trip to Florida tomorrow! His aunt and grandparents are taking him to see Harry Potter world and (hopefully) the last shuttle launch. Should be a great trip!

Slim: Love the dogs racing the humans. Especially liked the dog "driver" checking on the competition.

Warhawk: I'm jealous of an 8-year old, LOL.

pdxKingsfans: It was crazy in my neighborhood. Loud and constant for at least 2-3 hours. And some folks bring out the heavy artillary (AKA illegal fireworks). I went outside around 11:30 PM and the smoke was so think it was like a fog hanging in the air. Seems everything was okay, though. No sirens.

Illegal fireworks are legal across the WA state line so they are pretty much everywhere in Portland. I admit I like to play with them though I haven't in years. Last night seemed a heck of a lot crazier than usual though. I sat on my porch and chewed the scenery for several hours and there are one or two instances that almost drove me back inside. I think there were still random explosions until at least 4am. Today needs to be a non-work day too.
