Fire Paul Westphal

It makes no sense to replace Westphal mid-season. Another coach is not what is needed now. Experience for DMC, healing for Reke and time for the team to gel as they play together. AND another player or 3 with talent. At least one that could really shoot the 3 would be nice.

This argument ALWAYS comes up whenever any coach's performance is in question. If this argument was valid, then no team would ever need to fire a coach because it's never the coach's fault. I mean, the coach is never the one committing the turnover, missing the shots, hogging the ball, or not boxing out for the rebound. But that doesn't change the fact that it's the coach's job to teach these guys how to execute so that they don't make those mistakes. It's also his job to draw up and teach them plays that they are capable of executing, to maximise the chance of having a positive outcome. If the entire team executes poorly that means the coach failed at doing his job. And in Westphal's case you have to add the constant tinkering with the lineups as a factor that creates collective mistakes, because they are not gaining the experience of consistantly playing with the same teammates and not building chemistry.
Im always for the LINEUP argument and how PW never keeps the same lineup and what not but in todays game he didn't have JT and you players like GREENE and REKE shooting like crap and that's not helping. To be honest, I'm not opposed to trading REKE, no joke, get a good player and draft pick for him. If the Grizzlies want to give up Conley and Mayo plus a first rounder for Reke I'm all for it because besides his injury he's not a player thats going to get you a championship where I could see Cousins on the team for a long time. I'm not one to trade REKE but at the same time is he a player that can get you a championship. He's the biggest trade chip and if he can get us a... screw it, WE SHOULDVE NEVER TRADED KEVIN MARTIN, FOOLS, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I would not trade Reke for Conley, Mayo, mustard, a bag of chips and a first round pick. We saw what he could do last season and he will return to form if he can heal properly. Reke is a special player and we were lucky to get him. Remember Rubio was on board and we passed Rubio up as well as Memphis passing on Reke.

I'm assuming you made a typo because earlier you said Reke is not a player that can help you win a championship but then you said he is here but again I'm assuming you meant to say DMC.

I'm OK with trading Martin. I would have liked to get a little more for him, but I'm good. Let's see what happens with Landry.

The second time he said "is he", not "he is". He just forgot to add the question mark...

Yup, I did forget the question mark and Im not really joking about trading him. He is a very selfish player regarless if he gets 5 assists, oooh, 5, whatever, he shoots 30% every night with number like 6 for 21 and 12 trips to the line, can't shoot a 3 and only goes one way, I mean, yea, he's good but not one of those players thats going to make it the championship with the team on his back. You might think, "Well, we're not going to get a player in return that will take us to the championship" true or not. It all depends on what position you want and so forth. What if he went to NY for Gallinari and Chandler, would you do it or out to the Timberwolves for Rubio and Beasley (yea right, they won't trade Beasley) or out to Portland for Batum, Miller and rights to Oden along with a pick, just scenarios. What I'm getting at is IT'S TIME TO FIRE PW, hahahaha, no seriously, Reke is the only chip on the table for this team to snag up 2 players a draft pick and the rights to 300 fans to fill the seats (the lower section where it's more expensive), so lets go KINGS.

There are arguments to be made against firing the coach, but saying it makes no sense is stretching it. I'm not worried about wins necessarilly, and if that was my only concern, I'd be all for keeping him until the end of the season and then try to find someone who is available and good. However, we have to ask ourselves some questions. I don't know the answer to all of them, but those are the most relevant ones, in my opinion:

Will having the worst record in the leauge and looking like we dont belong in the NBA hurt us in the free agency hunt in the summer? Probably.

Will the fact that all of our players are performing way below their talent level hurt their trade value and our chances of acquiring a proven vet in a trade? I think so.

Is Westphals constant tinkering with the lineups hurting the development of our youth and instilling bad habits in their system? Most definitely.

Is there an available coach out there that can make us better at this point? I don't know, but to be honest, I can't envision anyone making us worse.

I wouldn't pull the trigger on any of those trades although I do like Wilson Chandler.

Gallinary and Chandler shine this season only because Amare and Spencer are playing well and open them quite a lot of space to shoot and penetrate.
We currently dont have a real superstar that can make every night 25-30pts and that draws the attention of 2-3 defenders.
But instead of realizing it and passing the ball and play as a team we continue the boring basketball style we played the whole season long.

By the way I doubt that NY would give up Chandler and G. for Reke-for Melo yes but for Reke mhhh never.

Man as the games and losses go by I see a lil progress with the on court product but they should really strongly consisder letting this poor guy go for his own good. He is looking older and sadder as the year goes on hahaha.

Just give Elie the big seat and hope for the best, he's the closest thing we have in a vet on the bench as well he has rings for being a fantastic roleplayer, maybe he can get in this young guys heads and imprint some of his own philospies on this team.

Perople should not post things this dumb on the internet. You end up having them become a permanent part of the record and can't ever escape them. And don't tell em that suggesting trading Reke a month inot his second season for roleplayers and third tier guys isn't dumb. I think I lost a few I.Q. points just reading it. Luckily I have many to spare. ;)

Fire Westphal, hire Jerry Reynolds and lets have silly fun. Oh, trade Tyreke to the 76ers for Iggy, Holiday and a draft pick and we'll take the coach also. Trade Reke to the Mavs for Butler and Berea and a draft pick, fir Westphal, hire Bill Cowher and get Marv Albert to announce the games.

The Kings really blew this one, as predicted. Not ENTIRELY Westphal's fault. HOWEVER, I predicted before the game that we'd lead for most of the game, Westphal would take Donte out in the 4th, eliminating a good chunk of our defense and some of our offensive selflessness and we'd give the game to the Warriors. You know why I knew that? Because it happens every night and it's been time to fire Westphal for a while now. Also, WHY ARE WE STARTING DARNELL JACKSON!?!?!?!

Firing Paul Westphal is not a smart decision but a GENIUS decision! He is horrible and the players, well lets be honest, they suck. Tyreke is just hype, so he won an award, who cares, he's not going to carry this team, it's not NBA2K11. The team needs to get a pure shooter at the SG spot and a player like Peja was at the 3 where he spreads the floor with his 3 point skill. If Landry learns that he's not a jump shooter and JT comesback 100% with Cousin progressing, shhh, that front court is nice. That SG and SF spots, hurting, Beno is playing out of his mind this season.

FIRE THE MASCOT!

Westphal needs to go. I don't ever want to see him coaching another Kings game, EVER. He just ran the same play over and over the 4th quarter and just let the players go out and make the same stupid mistakes. Veteran teams can figure it out on their own and play it out, but with a young team, you can't just let the players figure it out. You have to take them aside and TEACH them.

There is no excuse for how they managed the game in the last 4-5 minutes. That's 100% on PW. He may have a roster full of young players, but he has absolutely no control over them. He's lost the team. It doesn't matter if your players suck, there is no excuse for chucking up shots 4 seconds into a full shot clock when time was on our side. There is no excuse for pounding the ball into Cousins repeatedly down the stretch only to watch him turn it over or take a terrible shot early in the shot clock EVERY ****ING TIME. There is no excuse for letting Tyreke dribble aimlessly and turn the ball over. There is no excuse for not playing Donte down the stretch when he's one of your only defensive stoppers. There is no excuse for having ONE assist and ELEVEN turnovers in the 4th quarter and overtime. The team is poorly coached. Period. End of story.

Enough is enough. It's been like this the ENTIRE year. The team needs a change. We don't want these young guys to get to used to playing like this. Losing is one thing but the way they are going about it is inexcusable.

I wouldn't say it's 100% on the coaching staff but yeah you bring up some good points.
