That makes me ****ing sick!
The game was over, we had the win, and the hand the game over to them... why run the ball 3 times up the middle for no gain when it hasn't worked all game!?!?!? I'm so pissed off right now.

Mark Roman proves why he was demoted...next step cut him!!!

The refs two terrible 15 yard penaltys on us made it possible for the Vikes to get 3 points and it mattered.

VD had best game of his career though...but I am very unhappy!

That ending was sickening, but running the ball there was absolutely the right decision. No question.

It was just a good throw and a great catch that beat the 49ers today.

There's no way we can win when we're 0-10 (or 0-9 I don't remember) on 3rd down possessions. I give the defense big props - they played a hell of a game today.

Look, almost everyone was predicting us to lose this game, and we almost pulled off the win against a very good team on their home opener. We are for real.

A couple bad penalty calls can be overcome. An offense that has the ball twice in the last 6 minutes with a lead and still allows the other team with a great QB to get two possessions doesn't deserve to win. It hurts, but we had the game and lost it. Nice throw, Brett.

eventually sing and raye are going to have to open up the playbook. I think we have enough talent to do so. And hill is looking like he can throw when we need him to. I get sings philosophy but he's gotta think outside the box sometimes. Against Arizona and minny we played not to lose at the end rather than being aggressive and it cost us today. We need a killer instinct! Sing says he's wants winners! Well you gotta put them in position to grasp that! Let's shut out the rams next week and forget about this game.

I haven't paid that much attention to the specific playcalling, but I really like the general philosophy. With the defense playing well, it actually does put the team in a position to win every game.

This team is just not built to be an offensive juggernaut. It's built to pound the ball and run, run, run, then put together one or two good drives with good passing.

Against great run defenses they're going to give the ball back, but they win when their defense holds. The defense was actually great in the fourth quarter except for one throw and catch and a couple of inches.

I'd love to seen a more open playbook as well, but that's only if I thought they had the personnel to do it. I don't, so I'm really happy with the success they've achieved so far.

I guess what I'm trying to say is we need an opening up of the playbook in certain situational moments like when we need one first down to put a team away. I know I know we were 0-11 on 3rd downs but we gotta at least attempt some kind of roll out play action especially on that last 3rd down. We had nothing to lose. If someone was open we get a first down and game over. If they cover it well or pursue hill and bring pressure he slides down and it's essentially the same as running it up against the Williams wall when they know it's coming yet we would have had the oppurtunity to end the game.

When you have a young quarterback against one of the best defenses in the NFL, yeah, you have to run at the end of the game. I think they're going to have to open up the playbook more than they have so far, but I don't fault the decision.

I haven't watched the whole game yet, but from what I did see, which wasn't much, Hill looked more decisive, he looked more comfortable in the pocket, and he was able to rely on Davis to make plays, which the Niners have been waiting on for four years now. I didn't expect that game to be as high scoring as it was, but I did expect it to come down to which quarterback could make the plays at the end of the game.

Seeing the 49ers win? Good.

Seeing Patrick Willis continue to justify our selection of him? Very good.

Seeing how Coach Singletary deals with the players? Very, very good.

Seeing the team actually playing good solid defense? Marvelous.

Seeing the Rams leave Candlestick with zero points on the score? AWESOME!!!!

NINERS!!!!!

Its not your fault.

Aw man, don't do this to me.

Its not your fault.

Come on! Dude, leave me alone!

Its not your fault.

(sobbing) I know! They made us scoreless!

Ha!Hahaha.

While am thrilled with a Niner victory, I feel badly for my good friend (a Rams fan) who went down to the game today from Sac. Driving that far to see your team get whipped has gotta be tough. Oh well, the risks you take when you go into someones else's home field. :p

Its really tough being a fan of the opposing team at a home game. When I went to the Seahawks game a couple weeks back Niner fans were pretty harsh at anyone seen wearing a Seahawks jersey on the way out. I hope your friend made out ok.

hah... if I was the niners i'd offer him 5 mil less. screw this guy. as an aside, must be nice that Singletary is not exposing himself to the players. Must be how he's getting his players to show all that effort.

our recievers aren't horrible but I do think we need crabs. It's the o-line that hasn't been playing like they should. Very few running lanes and not that much time to throw altough hill has been playing well.

Most likely the 49ers will use two weeks of roster exemptions on Crabtree and add him to the roster after the bye. That is my opinion and consistent with what people like Mike Sando (ESPN) and Matt Barrows (Sac Bee) are saying.

There is a post on Sando's blog where Trent Dilfer gives realistic expectations for Crabtree.

49er fans who read blogs should definitely be following Mike Sando.
