Kings Fan’s TV Show Draft! - Round 20

Mash ( September 17, 1972 until it ended February 28, 1983)

For me one of the greatest TV shows ever. I have probably watched each show atleast twice. The show not only made you laugh but made you think aswell.

While this is far from my absolute favorite show, I felt this was the less safe pick.. so with my first pick, I select...

ER (1994-2009)

While the show did lose steam in it's final years, this drama captivated me all 15 years. Few other shows connect you with the characters quite like this one.

Many memorable moments and memorable people as well.

Alrighty, I'm trying to get caught back up with all this stuff since I had to tend to some other things for a few weeks.

Since my overall number 1 has slipped off the board (weird how that could happen drafting this low I know huh? ;))

I'm going with an ample substitute and will follow it up with another fav. Had a hard time figuring out which order to draft these.

X-Files 1993-2002

Another show with great storytelling and two FANTASTIC leads whose chemistry got better as the show wore on. If I can't have Lost? I'll take another strong mythology show...I Want To Believe!!

Since it's going to be a virtual lifetime before this comes around to me again, I had to think long and hard about the TV shows I would want to be able to watch for a very long time...

Since some diabolical fiend (and she knows who she is!) took my current fave, I had to go with my standby... The one and only Jack Bauer will keep me entertained AND motivate me in case my island is overrun with drug lords or terrorists. So, with my first pick - and the last pick of round 1 - I'm selecting...

After all the drama, mayhem, fork-stabbing, etc. I figure I'll need some lighter fare to balance it out. While I have a lot of sitcoms I like, this one truly makes me laugh out loud on a regular basis...

Two and a Half Men

Sorry about the time out...but here's my second rounder.

Twilight Zone (1959-1964)

Wasn't a hard choice, this is my favorite marathon show even though I have seen most of these episodes at least a bazillion times over the years...thanks to well, SciFi channel marathons! Sci Fi, social commentary...what's not to love? Episode that to this day scares the beejeebies out of me is "Time Enough At Last" with Burgess Meredith. That was the epitome of loneliness and the depth of despair that resonated with me. The minute his glasses break? : shudder:

This actually was sorta a hard choice because I have another "must have" show I could have taken here. But I'll wait and hope it comes back to me. But TZ is too important to me to pass up.

That episode is the single reason I always have a back-up pair of glasses. Always.

Great pick, BTW. The other episode I still remember to this day is "To Serve Man"...

:)

Hopefully, my absolute favorite show can last another round because again I think this is the less safe pick..

Friends (1994 - 2004)

I just couldn't leave this one off my list, which has officially become the 90's version of NBC Thursday. ;)

Jerktastic! (Jerk is the correct harassment phrase in this thread, right?)

I hate this. I know I am going to lose a couple more of my shows by time it gets to me again. I already lost 4 already. so without further ado here is my pick.

True Blood (2008-present)

I love this show. The writting is great. My favourite characters have to be Eric and Sooki.

After much internal debating over two options here, I had to give the nod to:

Six Feet Under (2001-05)

This is actually my favourite TV series of all time. There are of course a couple of challengers, two of which have already been drafted (one by me of course), but, in all honesty, nothing can touch Six Feet Under. I have yet to encounter any show that has characters this deep, conflicted and, ultimately, extremely likeable. Following their development over the seasons and cringing every time something traumatic happens to them or they make a reallly, really bad decision is great and the acting is superb. My personal favourite season has to be the second, but the finale of the fifth and last season also has a very special place in my heart. Anyway, enough of the blathering, I think I need to watch some of these DVDs again now.
