One of my ideas I set aside at the end definitely was going to use Cameron, so guess I'm glad I went another way.

However, I am not sure how many votes you are going to win wiht a remake of Titanic. :p
We'll just have to see about that. To paraphrase what was said about XYZ ABC (when he is not making movies) - anytime Jim Cameron is not making a sci-fi movie is a huge loss to the movie industry.

Howdy all!

Before I leave for the PR, I wanted to let you know that 6th has agreed to help me. I now have an accomplice to my madness, and should I lose, a scapegoat. :D

I'd like to suggest right off the bat that we NOT mention names of directors, actors, actresses, etc. that might be on someone's wish list. If someone is hoping to capture a particular name that might or might not immediately come to mind it can be pretty aggravating to have someone mention it in passing... I know because it happened to me at least twice last year.

I think talk should be limited to those who have already been drafted.

Yeah I agree, this happened to me last year too in the VG draft when someone mentioned Banjo Kazooie a few rounds before I picked it. I still got it, but didn't appreciate that it was brought up

Forgot about that. Happened to me too in several drafts. Sorry.

I hereby announce that I will not be Spike's scapegoat. He PM's me information, and before I can PM back (and I was here at the time) with questions, he is gone. If he does not check back in before leaving, it will all be up to me. Mwahahahahahahaha!!!

Ok, now kingsnation actually sent me who his lead actor was going to be back when he was going with a different genre, but I am going to assume that since he switched to rom com that that actor might change (given who it was does not really have to), so I am just going to assume he would want me to wait upon him to appear and make his pick as normal.

If I change/modify my genre, does that cost me a pick?

Yes, and you have to do it before Rnd 7 -- that was kind of the compromise I came up with between declaring before the draft or just drafting genre outwright. Basically the first genre is free, and then if you want to change it you just basically "draft it." Couldn't figure any other way to make the opening genre "matter".

I actually just put you down for Action, BTW, so don't know if that is broad enough to cover you or not? Probably not if you suddenly want to make a musical. ;)

Sorry people for the delay, this day/week has been an absolute monster and I won't be free until like tomorrow evening, so it's not done yet. On top of that, I'm coming down sick! :(

Anyways, Brick - thanks for assuming the change..

This has to be the most obscure first round in the history of drafts of all kinds

Obscure? Outside of Perry, who is kind of a sneaky/saavy choice for Rom/Coms, these are all pretty big names. Not the all time biggest of course, but that's because we're trying to create a cohesive whole here rather than jsut putting together "best of" lists.

Ok obscure was a bit extreme. Can't wait to see how this turns out

If I don't have this guy, my whole direction has to change. I wasn't too worried about him being gone, but am incredibly glad he's available...

With my first casting selection for the upcoming blockbuster from the studios of Forest Dweller Productions, we are very proud to announce our leading man ...

Antonio Banderas

As my director, I choose:

Quentin Tarantino

Maybe surprisingly to some, Tarantino is a huge fan of the Western and typically cites two or three of the genre's iconic films as among his favorite movies of all time. Now, he helms an edgy, gritty, bloody classic-to-be for the new millennium.

And there goes the inspiration for my earlier random question. I wanted Tarantino as my writer, but knew someone would take him as a director unless I used my first pick to get him. Oh well.

Marlon Brando

One of the unquestioned greatest actors of all-time. Brando is probably most revered for his performance in The Godfather. He's also greatly admired by Tarantino for his work in the overlooked cult-classic western One-Eyed Jacks, which as an aside is the only film Brando ever directed.

Next up, Forest Dweller Productions is proud to announce the signing of ...

Queen Latifah

Although she's the second female lead in the picture, her unique talents make her presence in our film critical and we are incredibly glad she's agreed to come on board. -- Sammy Squirrel, spokescritter for Forest Dweller Productions

Ah yes, very late it had come to me that he might really be able to fill a smaller role for me, but I knew there was no way he would last long enough for me to take him.

While I am busy updatig the board, might as well get the little red arrow off of me and keep this thing moving.

So, with my 2nd pick I take famed comic actor:

wait for it...

Anthony Hopkins

Also not my lead. I was worried about this one though, because there was absolutely nobody else who could have pulled off what I needed here, and he could have been added to almost any cast in any genre (except perhaps Spike's musical).
