I have to be honest. The only reason I don't want Favre to come back is so Peyton Manning can at least have a crack at his consecutive starts record.
Other than that, if he wants to play and there's a team that wants to sign him, then fine. Doesn't bother me one bit. I mean, it would be great to see him make nice with the Packers, get his jersey hung at Lambeau Field, maybe be a part of the front office, all that stuff, but I'm not a Packer fan, so if that doesn't happen, oh well again. But as long as he wants to play, and there's a demand for him, great for him.
What bugs the heck out of me is the nonstop media coverage. I'm at the gas station this morning, and the on-the-pump commercial screen is showing an ESPN clip about how Favre is meeting with Brad Childress today. This is the biggest sports story of the day? The NBA Playoffs are in full swing, baseball season is warming up, the Sox and Yankees are playing (in empty New Yankee Stadium) ... and the biggest story is that Bret Favre might want to go play for the Vikings? Get over it already.
