Poor souls in Detroit.

0-16, Chauncey traded for Iverson, MSU gets blown out at home to UNC, and now their franchise is on the shoulders of Stafford.

Could be worse, but could be way better in a different year.

There was a story going round that the two teams that lost in the F4 semis used the Lions locker room pre-game. Not sure if there is any truth to that, but fun rumor.

Wow. That's big. I don't know why you would trade away a guy like Braylon Edwards, but the Giants are smart for jumping all over it.

I wonder what guys like Marvin Harrison and Torry Holt are going to do once the dust settles.

Yeah the Browns appear to be tearing it all down, after dealing Winslow to the Bucs earlier in the offseason. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jamal Lewis moved too. As for Harrison and Holt, I've been wondering about that myself. I'd say they both stay in the same conference though

Should be an interesting final 9 days until the draft..

ESPN: Coach Whisenhunt says team is open to offers for Boldin

Boldin continues to bring up the idea of a trade. With contract talks at a standstill, the Cardinals can listen to offers before the draft. The Eagles and Giants might be at the top of the list.

Boldin is considered a No. 1 wide receiver so it could cost a No. 1 and No. 3 draft choice to acquire him.
More..

Apparently, NY has options open with both Braylon and Boldin now.

Holt, Jaguars finalize deal

Former St. Louis Rams wide receiver Torry Holt agreed to a three-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday that could be worth as much as $20 million.

The 32-year-old Holt agreed to a creative contract that grows financially based on the way he plays. The deal, according to a source, calls for three years with base salaries totaling $13 million. While there is no signing bonus, the first year of the contract is guaranteed.
Great move for them, IMO. They have not had a receiving threat since Smith/McCardell.

Chiefs trade Tony Gonzalez to the Falcons

The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to trade perennial Pro Bowl tight end Tony Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons for a second-round pick in the 2010 draft.

Gonzalez had asked the Chiefs for a trade in March if the right deal came along. The only tight end in NFL history selected to 10 Pro Bowls, Gonzalez owns NFL career records at his position with 916 receptions, 10,940 receiving yards, 76 receiving touchdowns and 26 100-yard receiving games.

"On behalf of my family and the Chiefs, I want to thank Tony for his time in Kansas City," Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said in a statement. "Over the last 12 seasons, Tony has been one of the finest players in Chiefs history, and he will always be remembered as a member of the Chiefs. His play on the field speaks for itself -- he holds almost every major NFL record for tight ends, and he is arguably the best to ever play his position. We wish him the best in Atlanta."

CRABTREE TO THE NINERS~!

Im so psyched about that! I was 100% sure he would be drafted by the Raiders, then again by the Jags.

I was perusing Raider boards after their picks, and it was fantastic.

Before the 1st round pick, everyone loved Crabtree and really wanted him, following the 9ers nabbing Crabtree there was promptly a "Russel/DHB will be better than Hill/Crabtree!" thread, and everyone was proclaiming how DHB was going to be the next great thing in the league.

And I also laugh at their second round pick, who Kuiper had as a potential 7th rounder possible free agent! The Raider fans defended his pick with a youtube clip of his "MONSTER HITS~!~~11!!~" and "Kuiper isn't a GM for a REASON!!11!~" posts!

I love the Raiders and Al Davis and their delusional fans and their terrible team.
Fantastic.

Quite a few people had the Raiders second rounder going undrafted. I don't know about Crabtree, rumor is that he fell because he has some character issues which normally would make him a perfect fit for the silver and black, but its ridiculous to draft a guy at 8 overall just because he's the fastest receiver available when he has questionable hands and can't run a route. With the revolving door of coaches in Raiderland that makes it even more of a head scratcher.

Yeah what a great pickup for the 49ers. I really like the day the Bengals had too, getting Smith in the 1st round and then Maulauga in the 2nd round. After Crabtree I think that is the 2nd biggest steal of the draft.

Great talent for the Bengals but for a franchise that has suffered mightily for picking bad character guys its a big gamble.

I don't understand it. They signed Tank Johnson a few weeks ago, too. And they still have Frostee Rucker and Chad Johnson. Add Andre Smith to the mix, and they have a lot of questionable guys on that roster.

I can't believe that Marvin Lewis is still employed as a head coach.
