Supervillain Draft Thread - Team write-ups and post draft rankings

I'm up and glad he survived.

Lord Voldemort
Destroyer of worlds? Super Cosmic Villain? Probably not, but he has style. Everyone is afraid of him. Everyone. Well except for that pesky little kid with the scar. Turns out my crew should be better at keeping him at bay then that misfit bunch of death eaters.

Doomsday is my strength. Voldemort is the brains. Sadistic, powerful, and able to not only read others thoughts, but shield his own from view.

Whats not to love?

So I need a villain to push Death in a bit more evil direction. This one should work perfectly:). With my second choice, I select

Mephisto ("Mephistopheles")

Mephisto is the penultimate demonic villain. He is the boss of hell, and is basically a pulp rendition of Lucifer himself. So Diablo and Pinhead will ultimately answer to this guy. He hates happiness, making it easy to convince him to invade my neighbor's tropical island paradise. He loves to blow stuff up, burn things, torture souls and the souls of their loved ones, menace, make mayhem, mischief, sow confusion, rape, pillage, and jay walk. Yeah, he's one bad dude!

Powers and Abilities
Mephisto, as a demonic being of the highest order, is pure evil and possesses supernatural powers and abilities gained by manipulation of the forces of magic. Like many other demons or gods, such as Hela and Pluto, Mephisto has made some sort of pact with Death itself and is permitted to capture the souls of departed humans to be kept within his realm. The exact nature of this relationship and the specification required for him to capture a soul after death aren't known. He can also take the souls of beings that are still alive, but only through very specific means. He cannot subjugate the will of another being without his victim's deliberate permission. Mephisto has the ability to take possession of living souls, but he only has claim over said souls if some form of pact is involved: he cannot indiscriminately abduct souls at will.
Mephisto is capable of using his power for a variety of uses, including superhuman strength, shape and size shifting, projecting illusions, manipulating memories, altering time, and is highly resistant to injury. Mephisto is completely immortal as he is immune to aging and all forms of disease. It is possible for his physical form to be destroyed, but the primordial energy which spawned him to begin with survives the destruction of his body, allowing him to create another one for himself over time. Like other demons of his stature, Mephisto's powers are linked to the realm he rules.
The character has been shown to be energized by sources of evil in the human realm, such as the alien Dire Wraiths. Mephisto and his realm are also symbiotically linked, and the character is able to transform the structure at will. Mephisto can also regenerate and reform in his realm.

Really struggling on this one, I'm sure my next guy will make it back to me, but I have another two that might not so I am going to take one of them here:

My Pick:
Sylar

First and foremost, I am implementing
"in their prime" here, especially after the last episode.

He's evil, he can be a good team player, and most importantly, when my baddie takes out your goodie, Sylar check his brain, and now he can do whatever it is that your 'hero' could do.

Sylar's base power, as described by Chandra Suresh, is "intuitive aptitude", the ability to innately understand and manipulate patterns within complex systems. As revealed in "One of Us, One of Them", this power comes with a nearly insatiable hunger for "understanding", which, in Sylar's case, specifically refers to craving the powers of others, driving him to kill other superpowered humans to understand their powers and make them his own. Despite the strength of this hunger, two episodes have shown that it can be resisted or satiated: in the alternate future of "Five Years Gone", Sylar has taken on so many abilities that he simply desires to get rid of all of his potential "competition" (other superhumans, to be exact); in the future of "I Am Become Death", he has resumed his identity as Gabriel Gray and denies his hunger for the sake of his son.

Sylar's intuitive aptitude allows him to deduce the workings of the powers of others; by examining the brain of his victim, he is able to find the brain's connection to the ability, and once he finds said connection, he can immediately replicate the power himself. However, he cannot acquire an ability from a dead person, even if their brains are intact. In "Fallout", Noah Bennet theorizes that Sylar's additional powers are a product of using foreign DNA to alter his own, which as a side-effect has driven him insane.

Of all the powers Sylar has acquired, the most prominently used is telekinesis, which is the first power he took. In contrast to the limited abilities Brian Davis displayed, Sylar's skills are far more advanced; he exhibits both fine control (precisely cutting open the skulls of his victims) and sheer force (flipping a police van), in addition to being able to use it to enhance his own strength and durability to superhuman levels, and using it to control another's motor skills in a manner similar to Eric Doyle's puppet mastery. Tests done on Sylar by Bennet's associate Hank show no overt signs of powers other than telekinesis; while their tests show that he possesses other powers, they are unable to identify what they are. In "The Hard Part", Sylar demonstrates he can use at least two of his acquired abilities at the same time.

VERY nice pick. Sylar is deliciously evil, and yet has a soft side...kinda.

Yeah he's from Heroes. Pretty much the opposite of Peter Petrelli which somebody took in the Hero Draft (Well, the same powers..but a bad guy)
OK, so for those of us that don't watch a lot of TV outside the Kings and the History and Discovery Channels, you guys are going to have to at least say where these folks are from. :D

Sorry for the delay, I was PM'd after I had left home yesterday and didn't get on till about now.

And with my first written-up, non-cryptic pick I select:

Benjamin Linus - Lost

Calculating, conniving, and above all a manipulative genius. For all you out there that watch Lost (which should be all of you, because it is easily the best show on television), you know that Ben always keeps everyone guessing, from the main characters down to you the humble viewer.

When he first entered the show as the downed balloon pilot Henry Gale, the show immediately shifted. Lost as a show now almost solely centers on the actions of this very villainous man and you can be sure that he will be the lynchpin in whatever happens when it all wraps up next year. I would love to go on and on about just how twisted and evil he really is, but you would just have to watch the show to really know.

Is that somebody from Heroes?
Yes he is Hannibal Lecter with super powers. NBC lets Heroes get away with a lot of gruesome stuff with that character. Last night he sliced opened someone's throat and they showed the victim bleed out while pinned down to a chair. Very graphic and disturbing.

You all know him....

GODZILLA!!!

Run, it's Godzilla! Or at least the heroes should... Godzilla's signature weapon is his distinctive atomic breath. In addition to his deadly atomic breath, Godzilla can also emit atomic energy in all directions from every inch of his body in a short-range pulse called the nuclear pulse. Godzilla utilises this nuclear pulse by swallowing his breath, and can be used to shove opponents in close combat. He can also generate powerful magnetic fields. Godzilla has as well displayed an uncanny ability to resist injury. He is immune to conventional weaponry and has demonstrated the ability to survive complete submersion in magma for an extended period of time. He has even survived being in ground zero of asteroid impacts and being buried under tons of ice for years at a time, seemingly cut off from any oxygen source. In addition, Godzilla possesses an extremely advanced and highly efficient regenerative ability. Godzilla is extremely strong at close combat also, excelling at martial arts and other forms of combat. He has been able to lift up, throw, and kill monsters bigger than him. Godzilla's tail is also deadly.

Godzilla has great intelligence in battle, but isn't too smart otherwise which is perfect as he is with Galactus. Godzilla is the perfect piece with Galactus and will be able to take over the heroes' island just as he did to the island of Japan.;)

I am digging the varity in these picks. :D After everyone spent a round picking up their over-powered franchise players, we're really starting to see some sinister plots taking shape with each pick. Keep it up fellow masterminds.

Who's your next pick, viking, to team with your Gigantic Duo?

Not really a villain... in fact, he seems more like a hero to me...
