Amen to that. I've got a root canal scheduled for mid-March that I'm paying for out of pocket and am trying desperately to line up insurance to help with the cost of the crown. In matters such as this, being unemployed is teh suck.
No kidding. Not to mention even good insurance can be not enough. Without going into gory details, 25 years ago I had to have $10,000 of dental work done as a follow up to jaw surgery. Needless to asy, no insurance was fgoing to pay anywhere near that. Had to take out a second on my house. My mouth should be insured by Lloyd's of London. :p

Mad D: I had my first root canal a while back. There was immediate relief from the pain I was having, so I'd have to say it was wonderful! No pain during the procedure. Good luck. :)

My biggest problem seems to be finding personal dental insurance with offices in my podunk area. I haven't had insurance, medical or dental, in over eight years (for various retarded reasons that aren't worth going into) and as a result, have a lot of dental work that needs to be done: several cavities, the root canal/crown, a molar that's only ever been a baby tooth that needs to be pulled and replaced with a bridge, etc. Not too much major work, according to the dentists I've seen in the last couple of months, but a whole bunch of minor stuff. If I settle for a policy that has an annual cap, it's going to take me years to get it all done.

I actually found a great looking co-pay policy with no caps a couple of months ago, but as soon as I enrolled the three offices closest to me magically disappeared from their system and I was assigned to a dentist in Placerville. I live in Arcata. Luckily, they weren't jerks when I told them that wasn't going to work for me.

Never figured I'd be grateful for dental coverage... My ex-wife's job doesn't give her medical or dental; when she needed work done, she had to drive up to Richmond and let interns hack her mouth up...

Dollhouse had a nice first episode. If you like Heroes you should watch it, if you don't you should watch it anyways.

If you are a fan of Joss Wendon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) you should also give the show a chance.

I think Dollhouse has potential but I hope they put in just a bit of the clever kitsch and humor that made Buffy so much fun...

Continuing to catch up on my Scrubs DVDs...

The episodes "My Lunch" and "My Fallen Idol" are two of the best TV shows ever.

My Lunch's ending scene with Cox trying to revive his patient is one of the saddest TV moments I have ever seen.
Seriously a tear-jerker.
Really...

Awesome 2 episodes of my favorite TV show ever,

Just added ER: seasons 1 & 9 to my collection! I love ER! Also, check out Circuit City right now - great deals on all media!

I like King of the Hill. Peggy thinking she is better than everyone and Dale being crazy is hilarious. That show grew on me after a few years. I can't believe they are canceling it so that they can make another family guy spin off.

I never noticed it until tonight.
Usually when it is on I go into ignore mode, or just change the channel.
I watched tonight because finally a new Family Guy was on after.

Tonight made me realize how much I dislike it.

I mean Propane.
Really?

One of my favorite King of the Hill episodes was when Hank got obsessed with a Propane video game. Don't knock it if you haven't watched it, SLAB... It's really pretty good.

Ok...
My post was misleading.
I haven't 'never watched' King of the Hill.
I don't follow it, but Ive caught plenty of episodes waiting for something I think is better.

It just seems that every single episode Ive ever seen/paid attention to rubs me the wrong way...I can't get into it...

....And the racist anti 'Red-Neck' Asian neighbors are two of the worst TV characters of all time. I truly almost hate them. :p

And the Taz Devil avatar is gone, VF?

Sometimes I play poker online late at night. It amazes me to look up cities where the other players at my table are really sitting.

Last night I played poker with people in Lithuania, Hungary, France, Denmark, Canada, Germany, Portugal, Brazil, UK, Israel, Australia, Spain, Belgium, Manitoba, etc.

I find that fascinating.

Only until Vlade's jersey hangs in the rafters in Arco. I brought this one back for one last time before it is forever locked away into the VF21 avatar vault...

I may bring back the Sta-puf Marshmallow Man in the gold jersey next, though...

;)
