Don't Make Me Use The Bat

You know, I am just going to say this -- if I were a Bucks fan I'd be more than a little pissed about the way the refs are calling the game tonight. We've shot 40 FTs through three quarters, and it is the ONLY reason this game isn't already over.

I honestly think Kenny Natt is trying to find a combination that will work, not wanting to accept that the pieces simply don't fit the puzzle. it's like dropping two jigsaw puzzles into the ground, mixing the pieces and then trying to solve them into one picture. It won't work, no matter how many different ways you try...

Playing the kids would make much more sense to me, but I don't even pretend to know what Petrie has planned as far as trades, free agency, etc. The thought actually crossed my mind for a moment that perhaps they're not playing Hawes and Brown major minutes because they're afraid the kids just might start winning and that's actually the last thing we'd want...

Showcase Salmons and Miller in the hopes someone will decide they need one or the other of them for the playoff push? I honestly have no clue...
There's got to be something going on. Hawes is like the forgotten man. Think back to the beginning of the year and how well he was playing and now he can barely get off the bench. If there isn't a trade with Miller, then this is more ridiculous than what can be put into words on this board.

There's pretty much no reason.

I heard a interesting snippet on ESPN 1320 today, and IDK who it was but they were saying that the Kings should get 2 free agents in the 2009 class (they said i.e. Marion, etc.) instead of spending a monster fortune on 010's class.

I only caught like the last 30 seconds, so I'm not sure if there was much more to the conversation, but it was pretty interesting.
There are a couple of problems with that "plan"... First, you have to get free agents willing to come here. There's no guarantee we could do that. Then, to make it worse, you have to be pretty sure they'll make enough of a difference to alter the rebuilding not even one year in... There's even less of a guarantee that will happen.

I honestly think Petrie has a plan in mind, but he's not sharing it. He has actually been quoted, however, as mentioning 2010 more than once. I think we have to limp along, waiting to see what happens. It's not pretty but look at what the Cubs fans have done for so long.

I hate watching these guys lose night after night, especially when the current team is built in such a manner that almost precludes regular wins. And, because of that, I feel sorry for them because I know very well NONE of them dreamed of coming to the NBA to be in a situation like this. There are just too many problems with our team right now for them to be successful. They can steal a win once in a while, but for the most part they're out there knowing full well they're going to be on the short end of the score at the end of the night.

Our Kings of days passed also lost a lot of games but no one expected anything more. We hadn't seen THE TEAM and we had no idea how intoxicating it could be to root for a team that actually won not just one game but groups of games.

Watching right now it's heart that's keeping Garcia, Jason and the others going. It's not their fault they're being forced into roles they're simply not good enough to fill. None of them are superstars and some of them certainly wouldn't be starters on the good or elite teams in the league. We're expecting the impossible - we can't really fault them too much when they don't deliver.

I'm not watching, but keeping track online. Can somebody explain why Hawes has played less than 8 minutes?
Just a hunch? I suspect he's still having some problems with that abdominal strain. They haven't said anything but he hasn't looked like himself recently...

Natty Ice.

You know, a win is good and all that..

...But almost ALL of our lotto rivals have gotten wins tonight. If GS wins then it will be all of them.

I say run out a lineup of Brown/Kmart/Greene (oh wait)/JT/Hawes and see what happens

I dont think any of us have seen a real PF in forever, besides on opposing teams.

I'm diggin the JT pick though...If Natt actually used his brain and gave him more second half minutes in that triple OT fiasco he'd probably have back to back 20/10 games (that is if he didnt end up with a 20/20 against the Ws).

And I'm also digging clutch Cisco

Maybe i havent seen a real PF inforever, but when Jason goes to the rim he reminds me alot of C-Webb.
It's not just you. Several Kings fans I know have mentioned - as have I - a certain something about Jason that reminds them of Webber. Nothing concrete but there is something...

--------------------

And for those not watching, Cisco is limping and may actually have reinjured his calf, which he grabbed when he went to the floor earlier in the quarter and was helped up by Bobby Jackson...

No, and he looks pissed. And I guess I'm a conspiracy theorist, but Reynolds sure is talking a lot about Thompson playing at center. Have they said ANYTHING about Hawes?
