Woman Shoots Herself While Trying to Kill Mice

POTTER VALLEY, Calif. — A Mendocino County woman who was trying to kill mice in her trailer with a gun ended up shooting herself and another person.
The 43-year-old woman pulled out her .44-caliber Magnum revolver after she saw the mice scurrying across the floor of her trailer on Highway 20 in Potter Valley, sheriff's officials said.
But she accidentally dropped the gun, which went off as it struck the floor. The bullet went through the woman's kneecap, bounced off the keys sitting on the belt loop of a 42-year-old man in the trailer and grazed the man's groin before ending up in his coin pocket.
Authorities did not release the shooting victims' names.
The mice escaped the shooting unharmed.

kid's dad and grandma are in the center of the fires around concow/yankee hill. they're ok so far.
my great aunt lives near the east side of paradise and isn't anwering her phone, so hopefully she's evacuated.
I've had two different dentists try to do a root canal on my tooth. the specialist that my dentist referred me to, put a softener inside and I get to go back on August 1st.

God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the
good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the
difference.
Now that I'm 'older' (but refuse to grow up), here's what I've discovered:
1. I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.
2. My wild oats have turned into prunes and All Bran.
3. I finally got my head together; now my body is falling apart.
4. Funny, I don't remember being absent minded...

Haven't a clue as to whether anyone other than I, and apparently you, watch this show, but... thought I'd take a minute to disclose that I won't be able to watch it anymore until I get home and check the DVR. So any comments about either tomorrow's results show or next week's finale that aren't clearly marked and wrapped in spoiler tags would be really mean.

Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman is in hospital after being injured in a car accident near his Mississippi home.
The 71-year-old Dark Knight star is in a serious condition, according to staff at Memphis's Regional Medical Center.
The accident happened shortly before midnight on Sunday outside Charleston in the Mississippi Delta.
A Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman told the BBC that Mr Freeman's car left the road and "began to flip several times" before landing in a ditch.
"There's no indication that either alcohol or drugs were involved," he added.
Mr Freeman was conscious and talking at the scene, he said, but the extent of his injuries was unclear.
There were "no other vehicles or pedestrians involved", he said. An investigation into the accident is currently under way.
