Malone fired

Pete/Vivek are turning this team into a national joke. Every board im on is blasting the Kings for the ridiculous thoughts of their front office.

yay lets play run n gun and 4 on 5 when we have a dominant Center!!!!!!!!

It might, but in reality is it a risk which we needed to take...? did we need to risk our immediate future on what appears to be a philosophy argument.

We were winning! It was brilliant... now uncertainly is back, i don't like that.
It was a bold move that might work or it might backfires.

Let's give it some time. The fact still remains that PDA has made some unpopular choices that proved to be right on. This may be another one of those.

With this move there is no middle ground now, PDA is either a great GM who see several moves ahead of everyone.... or he is in over his head. I still like to think he is the former.

I'm off to the gym. Going to shave my head, put on a fake beard, grab my nerdy glasses and go cherry-pick like never before seen.

When the boys tell me to get my ass back on defense and get my head in the game, I'm going to tell them this is the future of the way this game is played. I just happen to think a few steps ahead. They want defense, but I'm about to bring the style.

Hopefully I don't come home with a black eye.

I didn't say I preferred defense to winning, don't go putting words in my mouth!
No, you didn't say that. But I didn't say you said it either, nor did I intend to imply it. From what you said, I would guess that you would prefer to win with defense than to win with offense. I was simply saying that I have no such preference.

Why is our front office so worried about "Style" as opposed to wins?
PDA actually wants to be politically correct and wiggled around to other issues to prevent himself from being forced into pointing out the stupidity of coach Malone.

Do we want PDA to point out all the stupid mistakes of Malone in coaching during this interview?

Of course not.

Malone just got fired. You don't want to continuously kick him down by pointing out his stupid mistakes in an interview like this. That is why he kept on referring to the style of play (and blah-blah-blah) instead of stating that there were too many consistent blunders that Malone had done that cause us to lose so many winnable games.

That's why PDA will never be truly great FO leader, a great GM. He's not a straight talker like Gregg Popovich was when he was Spurs GM before taking reins as head coach. He never said much, but when he did it was direct, to the point, not deceptive - certainly not a lie. Maybe Pop had learned that lesson as US Air Force Academy graduate but where ever he did PDA is not cut of the same cloth. He's a little sneaky weasel nerd who thinks he knows way more than he really does. Now if it ends up not being true that the nerd blew it with this move Kings fans will know soon enough and long before, "the new building."

Pete said the Kings want to give the fans a style of play reflects the city, referred to Webber days

Is Pete confused?
Ok now this guy is kinda pissing me off. How the **** does he know what "reflects the city"??? Like he's some Sac town native??!!

I'll tell you one thing that reflects this city, and that's our ability to smell bullcrap. And it's wafting pretty stout from his direction with lines like these.

Just shut up and hire George Karl and let the man ****ing coach.

Jeez.. Corbin will get the shaft as soon as they reach negotiations with Karl. The video above is clear as day.
I hate the whole approach on that. If you can get Karl, which it seems you can, then it's bad basketball to even give Corbin the chance. So either you're passing up on a HOF coach to give a guy who hasn't been good a chance, or you're being dishonest to everyone while you bide your time on the coach you want. There's no positive there.

This is how you get fired. Call your owner full of it.

"I don’t care what anybody says," Malone said after after a Dec. 6 loss to the Orlando Magic, per Jason Jones of The Sacramento Bee. "Analytics, whatever you want to call it. I think it’s all B.S. Defense wins in the NBA, and (Saturday) we didn’t defend anybody."

Someone has to coach the team until the "real" coach arrives. You want the interim coach to do his best so of course you throw your support at him, when behind the scenes, everyone knows the truth. Karl will be coming I'm guessing, but that doesn't happen overnight either. You're right though, no positive here.

Listened to the interview, and it was mostly BS in my opinion. Of course what else is he going to say. To say that Malone isn't the answer to get to the next phase is one thing. To then explain the style of basketball you want the team to play, but fend off questions about Karl, who is renown for playing that style, in lieu of letting Corbin have a shot at it, is a bit dishonest at best. If your not sure Corbin is your man, then why fire Malone. Unless of course he's not your man, Karl is! I think they don't want to be accused of putting the cart before the horse. I think they've already spoken to Karl, and probably did so weeks ago, but don't want it to appear that way. It would make Karl look like a vulture waiting in the wings, waiting to pick the bones. And it would make them look like backstabbers.

Its ironic that they seem more interested in style than results, because their style in how they handled this is horrible. PDA would have been better off just owning up to the fact that they didn't like Malone, they have a chance to get Karl, and decided to go for it. If your going to stab someone in the back, putting your arm around them and smiling when you do it, doesn't make it less painful, and one could argue if makes it more painful. I'm a results guy, and if Karl ends up being the coach, and I think he will, and we win, then I'm all for the move, just not the way it was handled.

For those that don't think the Kings are built for running, here's my plan. Play the 4 on 5 defense, and let Cuz just hang out under the other teams basket. That way he never runs the floor. Collison, McLemore, Gay, and JT are all good athletes, and would have no trouble running the floor. We would win games with scores of 165 to 160 with Cuz scoring 140 points a game. He'd be a shue in for the all star game, and would lead the league in scoring, until of course the rest of the league started playing the same way.
