Listened to the interview, and it was mostly BS in my opinion. Of course what else is he going to say. To say that Malone isn't the answer to get to the next phase is one thing. To then explain the style of basketball you want the team to play, but fend off questions about Karl, who is renown for playing that style, in lieu of letting Corbin have a shot at it, is a bit dishonest at best. If your not sure Corbin is your man, then why fire Malone. Unless of course he's not your man, Karl is! I think they don't want to be accused of putting the cart before the horse. I think they've already spoken to Karl, and probably did so weeks ago, but don't want it to appear that way. It would make Karl look like a vulture waiting in the wings, waiting to pick the bones. And it would make them look like backstabbers.
Its ironic that they seem more interested in style than results, because their style in how they handled this is horrible. PDA would have been better off just owning up to the fact that they didn't like Malone, they have a chance to get Karl, and decided to go for it. If your going to stab someone in the back, putting your arm around them and smiling when you do it, doesn't make it less painful, and one could argue if makes it more painful. I'm a results guy, and if Karl ends up being the coach, and I think he will, and we win, then I'm all for the move, just not the way it was handled.
For those that don't think the Kings are built for running, here's my plan. Play the 4 on 5 defense, and let Cuz just hang out under the other teams basket. That way he never runs the floor. Collison, McLemore, Gay, and JT are all good athletes, and would have no trouble running the floor. We would win games with scores of 165 to 160 with Cuz scoring 140 points a game. He'd be a shue in for the all star game, and would lead the league in scoring, until of course the rest of the league started playing the same way.
