Kings active in trade talks?

I think the Kings have a trade exception of $2+ million from the Rudy Gay Trade. Can they use it with MT or JT contract to trade for Sanders?
I re-read my post and realized I wasn't quite clear: when a team is trading for Poison Pill contract it must either have cap space/trade exception for entire incoming contract or find a third team with cap space/trade exception to absorb the difference, which in this instance would be $2,666,000+ (actually a bit less since Sanders is making a bit more than $3 million, but I thought it was a bit too much work to re-calculate the exact number :D)

Grizz looking for "wing athleticism," apparently. Somewhere to try to flip Williams? What more would we need to add for Ed Davis?*

But despite the potential riches that could be acquired in the 2014 draft, the Grizzlies aren't looking to tear down in the short term. League sources say they're active in trade discussions that would inject some wing athleticism into the mix and improve the team.

*understanding, of course, that we'd have to either wait until the restriction on packaging Williams expires or concoct two separate deals.

Could somebody tell me once again why Latinopost is all of a sudden the harbinger of NBA trades? Has anything they've posted actually come to pass?
Hoopshype was always mine. So far everything they have said on latinopost was about a day before it hit hoops hype. I am becoming a believer

What would it take to get Eric Bledsoe from the Suns? I think he'd fit perfectly.

PG: Bledsoe/Ray McCallum
SG: Benny Mac/Jimmer
SF: Gay/Williams/Acy
PF: Cousins/Landry/Acy
C: Embiid/Gray

Assuming that IT/Thornton/JT are dealt

FFS.

I have no idea why all of a sudden the completely random Latinopost is in the NBA trade rumor business other than the fact that it generates clicks, clicks, clicks, clicks, clicks.

But for a wee little bit of fun, let's try to track this one down, shan't we?

On December 26th, the Latinopost, the first and best known source of sports rumors, printed this (link):

The Boston Celtics could reportedly make a move for Sacramento Kings guard Jimmer Fredette with the hope that he can add more firepower to the team's offensive arsenal, according to Digital Journal.com
Oh, well, of course! It came from Digital Journal.com! Well, that makes the rumor that the Celtics COULD make a move for Jimmer totally legit! Let's see what Digital Journal.com had to say!

Sports World Report has suggested that General Manager Danny Ainge could help this franchise with moves this season and one player that could add some instant offense to the squad is Jimmer Fredette.
Hmm. Well, that was back on December 20th, so no points for Latinopost picking it up quickly. Still, it's even MORE deeply sourced, as it came from the impeccable Sports World Report, so why not see what they had to say on December 19th!

Fredette could be an interesting option now that the Celtics are off the Asik deal (UPDATE: the Celtics are not doing the Rockets and Asik deal) since the Kings have no use for him after not giving him his option for next season. Fredette is being held hostage there and Brad Stevens could be an interesting option for the Celtics as they look to find another scorer. The team has been playing well and a Fredette deal could be interesting.
So, hey...pure unbridled speculation has apparently turned into "The Boston Celtics are interested in Jimmer".

Again, FFS. Next person to post a Latinopost rumor gets a black eye from Brick's bat if I have to steal it out of his cold, dead hands to do it.

Edit: no links because one of those websites actually crashed my browser three times while trying to put up this post (not sure which one). I'm probably infected by seventeen different viruses now. You guys are all welcome. Also, ignore the Latinopost. Geez.

No chance at Bledsoe. He's the Suns Franchise player and they're going to do everything they can to resign him. Dragic is the one we might be able to get.

I think that's why a lot of places don't like to name their "source" because most of the time you can follow it all the way back to some random guy making a "what if" statement. It's like that game you used to play where at the end of a line of people you tell them to tell the next person and so on and it turns into something totally different by the time it hits the other end of the line.

Great post!

Now news that Horford may miss the rest of the season for the Hawks. Still a lot of talent on that team, currently slotted third in the East (although that's not saying much). Might they be looking at someone like JT to stay afloat?

My proposal: JT and IT for Teague

Hawks do it to get a big to ease the loss of Horford (not even close, but a big body at least) and a PG that could take over the reins now and perhaps be re-signed for a few years as Schroeder eases in. Kings do it to resolve the PG of the future question for good.

Not sure Teague is that worthy of both JT and IT....and in our state, I wouldn't mind Schroeder and their Brazilian center...his name escapes me but he looked good in the summer. Schroeder can be a defensive PG we could use.

Liked him as well, but he's shut down with severe tendinitis right now.

I like the trade idea for Teague. Teague is really high on my list of point guards that I like for this team, perhaps #1 or #2.

Our best bet at improving our perimeter D is defending opposing point guards. The perfect player for our front court can block shots and rebound. Acquiring these players has to be pretty high on our list of priorities. Point guards come a lot cheaper than starting quality, shot blocking big men. It would make the most sense to trade for the point guard and draft the big man. So why not do the suggested trade for Teague and draft Embiid/Cauley-Stein? That is of course if we have no shot at Parker/Wiggins.

Marcus Thornton and Ndiaye for Mario Chalmers and Joel Anthony we got a PG and give the Heat more offensive firepower. I can't remember much about Anthony but I'm pretty sure he can block shots.

That would be my strategy if I were PDA. Use all of your current resources to get a defensive quality starting PG who doesn't have to score a lot then draft Embiid or Cauley-Stein in the draft. People forget that 8 teams in the East have to make the play-offs, meaning that only 7 Eastern teams can be in the lottery. Since the Kings will more than likely be one of the 2 worst Western Conference teams that means that the Kings should get a top 9 pick at the very worst and that should leave them open for one of Embiid/Cauley-Stein/Vonleh to become their defensive starting PF next to Cousins. So burn all your assets to get that PG now then use the draft to get your defensive big, then let that team build chemistry and see how it unfolds.
