Zach is gone. I wouldn't mind taking.
First, he has been known to gather 20 points and 10 rebounds per diem. Secondly, that contract is only for 2 years, if he gets us to the playoffs, which he is capable of doing, he is worth it. And seriously, are SAR and Moore capable of getting the kings near the playoffs? I'll let you guys decide that one. I think he would help take the load off of Thompson. I don't want to burn this rookie out because SAR, K9, MOORE and or MILLER decide to get injured. We are decidedly thin in the front court. I think this trade needs to happen for the kings to be relevant this year. Randolph needs a change of scenery, and a starting role, otherwise he is going to pout and kick and scream. He is not my first and last option on my PF wish list. On the other hand, if he were on the Kings roster, he would be. Think about that. IF he WERE in sacramento, would he start? If the answer is yes, we should go get it. And Randolph doesn't get injured. thats a major plus+++. Two year risk. And we have plenty of cap to wiggle around with even without Moore and SAR after next season. If it was that good of an idea, it would be done by now. I admit, Zach is like Jamal Tinsley and Artest and Spreewell combined. But at least he will be entertaining. And if thats all were going to get this upcoming season(entertainment).I.E. no playoffs, lets get him and Jamal Tinsley while we are at it. We could have a two team roster, like portland did. One team has bad men, and the other has slightly less respected men. I think it can't hurt. Rebuilding is about doing something new and different. So far, Petrie gets an F for risk taking. I have convinced myself, we need Randolph and Tinsley and whoever else is seemingly needs a second chance. It's a risk, but if they are on one team, mixed with our current roster, it could be a nice little competition resulting in some numbers in the wins. I KNOW THEUS WOULD BE DOWN WITH MORE VETERAN TALENT. key word-veteran.

No our goal should be too win, gain chemistry and yes, make the playoffs. If we just wanted to make the playoffs, we would've kept Bibby and Artest. Our goal right now should not be to make the playoffs. We must rebuild so we can contend for a championship for years to come. No thanks
No our goal should be too win, gain chemistry and yes, make the playoffs.
We need experience in the PO's for the future when we are serious contenders. The kings need to become a TEAM while we are rising to the top and making the playoffs is a huge boost for team chemistry. We don't need to tank because we have multiple picks next year and tradeable assets if we really want to rebuild via draft. I'm not saying I want Randolph on the team because he is the last thing we need right now(Thompson,Hawes need the time). But making the playoffs should be a goal for us, not throwing away seasons and team growth so we can get a rookie.
So you would rather throw away talent in a pointless demoralizing exercise of getting your *** handed to you by a real team that had more brains than you did, took a couple of years off, and ended up with Chris Paul or Tim Duncan as a result? Because that's all you are advocating -- sure as just cutting Spencer or Thompson from the team so you can be a #8 and get get killed again. Let's go sacrifice a lottery kid with a future, so I, as a fan, can get my cheap and pointless jollies.
Its not remotely worth it. And its not remotely significant. The first playoff appearance that matters is the one where you are at least a serious threat to make the second round. A first round squishage doesn't teach you anything, except that you suck and would have been better off taking the time to develop a real team.
You don't teach a team to lose, especially if you have the picks and tradeable assets to possibly attain a top 5 pick and maintain your core. Players want to win, they are not playing for draft status and a lottery that we prolly wont even win, because David Stern decides to be a jerk and give it to whoever he wants. Your opinion and my opinion is not going to change our teams goal because winning is just the demeanor of any real team.
For every Tim Duncan & CP3, there is a Hoffa Arajuo, Kwame Brown and Bargnani times five. Sure the possibility is there to get a great player but its highly unlikely.
We already have most of our core, (Martin,Hawes,Thompson,Garcia,Beno,Greene) and we already know that all of them want to win/succeed now along with Reggie. So yah ill take a beatdown in the first or second round which is nothing to be demoralized of, keep my rosters confidence and learn from the mistakes NOW instead of later, when you expect us to just jump in the playoff race and succeed with no prior knowledge or EXP of the playoff game which is an entirely different game.
Randolph is a selfish player who cannot defend to save his life. He can score a bit, and can rebound.... Let's get back Artest, trade for Iverson, trade for Curry, trade for Marbury, and trade for Ricky Davis to play SG..
LOL that would be the most selfish team ever.
FakeInjury, there are players you stay away from if you are trying to build a successful team.. Randolph is one of them.. If you want examples of other players you stay away from here are some names.... Iverson, Curry, Marbury, Anthony, Carter, McGrady, Jefferson ect ect
Jefferson has been to 2 NBA Finals. Iverson to 1. TMac wins 50+ every year.
Zach is different. He's a selfish player who has basically never won. He's rapidly becoming a modern Derrick Coleman.
Well I suppose at least you are consistent -- if you are not going to recognize the necessity of a rebuild in the first place, no reason not to become instantly impatient and want to short circuit it as soon as we start, right?
What you don't understand with all the standard "winning is the demeanor of any real team" nonsense, is you're not trying to win. Or rather not understanding how to win. You might as well paint a big ole L on your forehead, walk into a prison shower and pick up a bar of soap. There are rules and tactics to every game. And none of them, and I mean basically none of them, involve constantly charging forward as hard as you can for every instant and every moment. The very essence of tactics is knowing how to conserve your strength, how to build it, and how and when to apply it. What you suggest is nothing more nor less than fool's gold. There is a reason that substance garnered its name.
Now is the time to build strength. To take a break and develop players and acquire assets. That is what a rebuild is. Done well, and with cap room maintained, in two years we will be maybe be ready to make some noise again. Done poorly, half assed and short circuited by impatience, we never will.
Im not for short circuting anything(the draft being this case). We don't need to become losers just so we can get a high pick, and we won't become losers because either way we are too good talent wise too suck that bad.
We can stay competitive win & improve as a team and STILL obtain a good pick through trade if its a neccesity that MUST be done, at least thats the logical route. Not loosing and looking like a bunch of bums only to be saved by your son of god pick.
I have a hard time imagining anyone-- trying to tell our players that they have to go out there and put on a sh*tty performance for the sake of a lottery pick that we might not even win and succeeding in persuading them. It sounds stupid because it wont happen because it is just that, stupid@! especially with our moveable pieces.
Do you honestly think thats going to fly with most fans, the roster and the whole Kings organization.. I'll say it again we have the pieces to make a move if we really want to rebuild through the draft. This team has tons of young talent with tons of potential already so whether you like it or not get used to winning.
So you are not in favor of a complete rebuild?? Ok, let's get Artest and Bibby back, or how about Webber and Peja, and let's fight for the 8th seed for the next 3+ years before finally realizing that this team is not cut out to be a champion. Love it or hate it, championships are built through the draft. Even the best franchises have completely sucked at some point in time, only to rebuild and win championships. And while you do make a point that our young guys need playoff experience, they are in fact YOUNG, and will have plenty of time to gain some experience when they mature and actually have a good team built around them
First of all, we have no idea how good Hawes, Greene, or Thompson will be, so nobody out of that group is "too good to suck" yet, they may end up being busts.
And if you think this group as it is can contend for a playoff spot, you should probably reconsider that. Look at Portland this past year. Their roster is better than ours, and they finished in 10th. The West is just too stacked. And you mention obtaining a high pick through trade? Unless we're giving up Martin, or 2 or more of our young players, that isn't happening.
And about your third paragraph. Nobody is telling these players to go out and suck. Young teams lack experience, and therefore usually don't fare too well in the standings for a while. Let the guys play and gain valuable experience. If they win, so be it, but there is ABSOLUTELY NO NEED to add a guy like Randolph to the mix, who would kill team chemistry AND our cap space
A complete rebuild dosent meen we have to be losers. GP is a smart dude and can figure that out other ways. We can obtain the top 5 pick through trade and still be a strong team. so why not have the best of both worlds?
We don't need to get any of those mentioned players back because either way we are good enough to contend for an 8th seed and unless we downgrade in talent severely the "full rebuild" and a loosing squad is not happening.
Just curious, who are we trading to get a top 5 pick?
First of all I never said anything about adding a guy like Randolph to the mix. Hawes & Thompson should recieve those minutes. & Second even if they are busts we have Miller and Moore who were a good enough PF/C to contend semi-close for 8th last year even with all our injuries. Third, Salmons & Garcias value are both going to shoot up with consistent playing time, so package either one of those guys with our draft picks and thats a very solid deal for a top 5.
For every Tim Duncan & CP3, there is a Hoffa Arajuo, Kwame Brown and Bargnani times five. Sure the possibility is there to get a great player but its highly unlikely.

I'm not sure you understand the concept. I'm fine if you disagree, but it sucks to see someone argue against a position when they are making so many incorrect assumptions about that position.I have a hard time imagining anyone-- trying to tell our players that they have to go out there and put on a sh*tty performance for the sake of a lottery pick that we might not even win and succeeding in persuading them. It sounds stupid because it wont happen because it is just that, stupid@! especially with our moveable pieces.
