u cant have stand by me over goonies. did u hear there probly coming out with a goonies sequal where all the original characters are in it, but their kids are the ones that go out on an adventure?
Jeff Cohen, who played Chunk, went to college with me. My freshman year, he was running for student body president. He had all these flyers and banners that read "Vote Chunk". As I was walking by Sather gate he handed me a flyer and asked if he had my vote. So I asked him to do the Truffle Shuffle. He declined, saying that he didn't do that anymore. So I cast my vote for a party with a more detailed platform, "Affirmative Action for Hot Chicks."
Not to digress too far from the object of the thread, with the idea of a possible Goonies sequel (say it ain't so) here are my top 5 sequels that are at least as good, if not better than their predecessors.
5. Before Sunset
4. Drunken Master II
3. Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan
2. Empire Strikes Back (I know, part of a triology - I don't care, it's my list)
1. Godfather II
The only partial blight to Godfather II is that it reminds me that there is an unholy aberration known as Godfather III. The series should have ended with the conclusion of Puzo's novel.
I also tried to make a list of movies that are better than the book they are based on, but I only came up with one - Blade Runner. The directors cut is especially good, and much better than Dick's novel.
