Your Favorite Pizza

It changes with time, but right now I am into a pizza with thick crust, Italian sausage, mushrooms, garlic, extra cheese, and baked extra crispy.

Round Table is probably the best we can do up here right now. No Roma's or Vincente's.

I have discuss pizza because I can't see the Kings games.

I never found any Pizza I truly appreciated when I was in Cali.

MY IDEA of the perfect slice is the NY/NJ super flat and floppy. There really is no comparison.

There is a lot about ny/nj that irritates me, but I would consider moving there just for the proximity to the perfect tomato pie.

I don't grease or "floppy" pizza. Roma's is greasy, but I'll suffer.

Zachary's deap dish spinich and chicken in the bay area. Roma's took my top spot recently and took out my usual top choice, Round Table. It could have been the fact they refused to pick up fallen food and plates that the previous dinners left on the floor, which led me to question the pizza itself (natomas)...

Strangely enough, the only kind of pizza that I really hate I had in Italy; I can't stand the way they make pizza in Italy...

I don't like it when pizzas get all fancy-schmancy with the toppings. Artichoke hearts, broccoli and chicken are not pizza toppings IMHO. I guess I just like the basic, old-fashioned pizza.

Been thinking about trying that - I'm recently diagnosed as mildly diabetic, so I've avoided pizza since then.

BD (beforediabetes), I used to love Pizza Hut pan pizza (almost any toppings) or the All-Meat Marvel from Round Table.

Funny you should mention those things, because I happen to prefer American pizza for those exact reasons...

I have to disagree with you about the toppings though; I mean, you might not be able to get sour cream on your pizza in the US like you can in Italy, but if you think that they have more toppings in Italy, then you haven't been to enough different pizza places here in the US... I sometimes think that they don't even have as many different kinds of food in Italy as they do here (the farther you get from Rome, for example, the harder it is to find beef, in my experience). There are pizza places here where you can almost literally get anything edible put on a pizza. You can get more different toppings at Cici's than I ever saw at any pizzeria in Italy.

There is a place up here that has made the same pizza for years. It's a local legend. The parlor itself has changed hands several times, but the recipe for their "Buckhorn Deluxe pizza" has always remained the same:

Thick crust, not too much sauce, ham, pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage, onion, bell pepper, GARLIC (meaning lots), totally smothered in cheese.

Sounds somewhat similiar to the one quick dog is talking about...

Dang! I sure wish they had delivery service. Hmmmmm. Maybe I need to make a phone call.

I said "not TOO much sauce." I don't like the sauce so thick that it's the only thing you taste. There's a nice layer of sauce on this pizza, but it doesn't overwhelm the taste of everything else...

As a pizza delivery driver for Pizza Hut at the moment I concur that Pizza Hut is the best pizza...althought I to am sick of it.

For me, working around pizza all the time, my favorite changes. Right now its Pep, Bacon, Jalapeno, and mushrooms on a hand-tossed crust.

Best pizza I've had was your garden-variety parlor called Roaring 20s, but I haven't eaten there in 10 years.

I used to go there when I was a young punk to play Gauntlet. The yellow Wizard is the most versatile character. My friends and I were told to leave once after we were caught eating from the salad bar. They had excellent cherry tomatos and bacon chips.

By far, the best Pizza in Sacramento, IMHO, is the Roma's Pizzeria on Franklin Bvld (not that other one off of Folsom Blvd). 'Been going there for as long as I can remember...But I only like Pepperoni or Cheese--nothing else.
