Crust as thin as possible, lots of sauce, extra cheese, green peppers, olives, onions, and pepperoni. Damn you're making me hungry for pizza right now...
I did have the NY pizza one time as my mom lives there. It was good, but way too greasy, which is contradictory since that is what makes it so good. I just don't like eating messy food.

Zachary's deap dish spinich and chicken in the bay area. Roma's took my top spot recently and took out my usual top choice, Round Table. It could have been the fact they refused to pick up fallen food and plates that the previous dinners left on the floor, which led me to question the pizza itself (natomas)...
I don't like it when pizzas get all fancy-schmancy with the toppings. Artichoke hearts, broccoli and chicken are not pizza toppings IMHO. I guess I just like the basic, old-fashioned pizza.

Extra cheese and extra cheese, pan crust. Or extra cheese, ground beef, pepperoni, ham, canadian bacon, and extra cheese, pan crust. If I have to be an adult about it, cheese, tomatoes, basil, pan crust.
Pizza in Italy is the real pizza. Do they even put oregano on pizza in America ???
To me, American pizzas are horrible because you get only a few toppings. The real pizza has a much richer taste and not nearly as much grease (in cheese) and the crust is not as thick, e.g. it's more expensive.

Funny you should mention those things, because I happen to prefer American pizza for those exact reasons...
I have to disagree with you about the toppings though; I mean, you might not be able to get sour cream on your pizza in the US like you can in Italy, but if you think that they have more toppings in Italy, then you haven't been to enough different pizza places here in the US... I sometimes think that they don't even have as many different kinds of food in Italy as they do here (the farther you get from Rome, for example, the harder it is to find beef, in my experience). There are pizza places here where you can almost literally get anything edible put on a pizza. You can get more different toppings at Cici's than I ever saw at any pizzeria in Italy.
There is a place up here that has made the same pizza for years. It's a local legend. The parlor itself has changed hands several times, but the recipe for their "Buckhorn Deluxe pizza" has always remained the same:
Thick crust, not too much sauce, ham, pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage, onion, bell pepper, GARLIC (meaning lots), totally smothered in cheese.
Sounds somewhat similiar to the one quick dog is talking about...
Dang! I sure wish they had delivery service. Hmmmmm. Maybe I need to make a phone call.
I said "not TOO much sauce." I don't like the sauce so thick that it's the only thing you taste. There's a nice layer of sauce on this pizza, but it doesn't overwhelm the taste of everything else...
Thin crust, xtra sauce, xtra cheese, pepperoni, black olive and pineapple. and I better make it myself since noone else seems to make it right. (AND NO PIZZA HUT!!--one gets sick of it after working there for 7 yrs on and off)
Best pizza I've had was your garden-variety parlor called Roaring 20s, but I haven't eaten there in 10 years.
I used to go there when I was a young punk to play Gauntlet. The yellow Wizard is the most versatile character. My friends and I were told to leave once after we were caught eating from the salad bar. They had excellent cherry tomatos and bacon chips.
By the way, guys and gals, I worked at Round Table when I was 16 for about 2 weeks. I wouldn't eat there any longer if your RT had employees like mine did.
I love Pizza, but its not my fault (well I guess it is when you think about it). My Mom says that it was her #1 craving when she was pregnant with me. Haven't been able to kick the habit since
By far, the best Pizza in Sacramento, IMHO, is the Roma's Pizzeria on Franklin Bvld (not that other one off of Folsom Blvd). 'Been going there for as long as I can remember...But I only like Pepperoni or Cheese--nothing else.
