Sources say the Kings are growing less inclined to trade up for the Grizzlies' No. 2 pick.

Thsi is a strong read to get your draft buz into hihg gear -- so many rumors and possibilities. Players available. Picks available. Teams trying to clear cap room by giving away guys/picks. Tons of intriguing possibilities.

Chris Wallace is notorious for drafting BPA and will do it even when his team's roster is seemingly loaded at a position (ie it doesn't make sense). Business-wise, he'd be crazy not to draft Rubio...in the event that agent Dan Fegan isn't bluffing, Rubio's a very tradeable asset. I'm expecting Rubio at the #2...and the fact that we have the most notorious no-draft-day-trade-GM in the league does not sit well in my stomach (or the fact that our only asset is KMart since Shock & Hawes are off the table).

Wow saw that rumor on draft express 3 days ago
really bummed the rumor still has legs

but article is really dead on, for Sacto its gonna all hinge on
Memphis.

If they decide to trade for Love with Minny - No Rubio

If they dont trade they might take Rubio the entertain offers
Since we wont give up our bigs - No Rubio

If Mem take Thabeet, OKC takes Rubio - No Rubio

So I guess we have to hope for no trade for the 2 spot
and Mem and OKC passes on Rubio

Wow sure are a lot of Ifs

This one I have significant doubts about. This moving Westbrook off the ball stuff is a little nutty after the way they closed the season. If they beleive in the guy, Harden would seem the better way to go -- can handle some and run a little ballhandler duties if they really want Westbrook off the ball, but does not have to dominate the ball and is a full size OG. of course obviously if one of these teams thinks Rubio is going to be amajor star then that stuff does not matter.

I agree with you fully. Especially since neither Westbrook or Rubio are very good outside shooters yet. This would mean that their primary lineup would have 1 player other than Durant who can shoot 3s and spread the floor. Heck, the only other player on their roster to shoot over 30% from 3s is Kyle Weaver. Unless the Thunder don't mind being mediocre for another 2-3 years, I can't imagine this being a good move for them. After all, while they will want to contend eventually, I am sure they want to win now as well. Harden or Curry makes the most sense for them assuming Thabeet is off the board.

The only caveat to this is that Presti is a very savvy GM who loves to deal. I could see him taking Rubio and having Washington or Minnesota pick Harden or Curry for him and swapping picks while picking up another asset. Especially if Minn would part with Love.

WHO CARES. There are other GREAT PG options available to us. Let the Grizzlies do what they will. Let the Thunder do whatever. Let us take the BPA. Whether that's Rubio, Evans or Flynn. I don't care, they're ALL going to improve our team and be good fits.

Westbrook himself said this was a crazy idea... im assuming that Westbrook wont nearly be as good of a player without the ball in his hands...
