Coming into night one of the NBA draft, everyone expected the Kings to make a trade to get back into the first-round of the draft, and Scott Perry did just that when he acquired the 24th pick from the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Kings sent the San Antonio Spurs' 2027 pick, with a top-16 protection, to the Thunder for the right to draft Nique Clifford.

I mean...If my boy, Nique, is even half the player (especially on the defensive side of the ball) that my other boy, Doug, was during his playing career, Kings fans, we have found ourselves one helluva player!!!

I was actually thinking Bonzi Wells because of their comparable size and the rebounding…but I guess Bonzi couldn’t be considered a Kings legend. Even though he had a pretty nice season with the Kings. Clifford seems quicker and more athletic. Atleast quicker than the Bonzi the Kings had

Depends if that playmaking he showed in the preseason is real or not. If it is, his comps jump to a completely different tier of player

I do consider Bonzi a Kings legend. We don't have a ton of post-season history here so Bonzi averaging 23 and 12 and pushing the #1 seed Spurs to 6 games in 2006 was the last positive NBA playoff memory we had for a very long time. He only played for the Kings for 1 season and he would still probably squeeze into my top 10 all-time favorite Kings players to watch.
