Would you trade Martin for Yi? (split)

Would people here be willing to give up Kevin to get Yi? Not saying I would, just trying to get a general consensus...

I would personally consider it...And then probably do it.

7 foot skilled athletes like Yi only come along once in a blue moon...The Kevin Martins of the world are much much more attainable. We are going to be in the lottery again, so why not trade Kevin for Yi, then you choose the most Kevin Martin-esq player off the board this next draft. He may not give you the 20 Kevin does right away, but the scoring guard is a much easier position to fill then the bigs on the court.

Personally I think I would enjoy seeing what a Artest/Yi/Hawes frontcourt could do.

And think of the outside attack of Milwaukee with Redd and Martin.

Theres reasons for everyone to do the trade!

I would not put too much weight into the claim that the Chinese rejected Millwaulkee beceause of it's small Chinese population. It's a nice cover, hard for the team to respond to and a LOT easier to sell than the idea that the Chinese government want a team that they can make a broadcast deal with so they can capitalize on Yi. To my thinking the idea that the Chinese government cares a whit abou US Citizens of Chinese decent is almost as unlikely as any concern they may have about Yi's comfort in his new home. (Follow the money!)

That being said I am MUCH less pessimistic about the Kings chances of makeing a deal for Yi than Brick is. There are only a few teams that can make the broadcast deal, offer imediate brand recognition in China, and make a trade that the Bucks will like. Now GP and the Maloofs may not be particullarly interested or unwilling to trade what the Bucks might want (Martin) but that is a diffenrent story.

Like soem other posters I would have to think long and hard about trading Martin for Yi. But in the end I think I would have to take the risk and make the deal. Guys Yi's size and skill set just don't come allong every day.

Yup. Sorry, I don't think the position is that hard to fill. The team is dying for a larger, scoring player. Still no defense, but at least some front court potential. Rahim, Thomas, Miller, Hawes, Williams ---

YECCCCCCCCH what an awful mess.

I don't think Kevin Martin would necessarily be the best deal on the table in front of the Bucks. As much as I like him and his potential for the future, he's still got a lot to prove. I can see other teams dangling much better bait if push comes to shove.

Would I do it? I honestly don't know but I think it's one of those philosophical questions we'll never really face.

Hell no. Yi isn't that good people. He is the most overhyped player ever. There's a reason he was only allowed to work out against chairs. The guy ISN'T that good and he's not that young either. He can't score on freaking 18 year old kids who are going to be freshman in college. You guys make him out to be some type of Garnett-like God but he really isn't. We know Kevin is a 20 PPG scorer. Yi? Next Channing Frye IMO.

Would I trade Martin for Horford? Yeah. Would I trade Martin for B. Wright? Maybe. Would I trade Martin for Yi? Hell to the no.
