Would you... Sac/Twolves/Philly

Nighthawk1

Starter
Sac Out: Kmart, Hawes
Sac In: Al Jefferson

Twolves Out: Jefferson
TWolves In: Hawes, Iggy

Philly Out: Iggy
Philly In: KMart

Sac Why: Legit Starting Center, young, a post scoring machine and plays solid defense.

Twolves Why: They solve their wing issues with a great slasher/scorer/defender in Iggy, get a legit 7 footer who is developing that can help spread the floor

Philly Why: They have no real shooters. They trade Iggy for someone who fits their Princeton style offense better in KMart. KMart moves w/out the ball well (which is key) and shoots a great %.

I don't see Minny moving Big Al (who is not a center BTW, but then again neither is Bosh). And the thing is that Minny cannot shoot either, so Iggy would be an odd move.

But to answer your question, sure. I suggested Kevin/Hawes as bait to bring back Bosh. Jefferson, assuming his knee checks out, would be a reasonable consolation prize (and a better post player). But he's got to be healthy enough to go back to 20-10 Al, not this 16-9 imposter so far this season.

This is a wash IMO.
Jefferson would possibly make up for K-Mart's offense but in no way does this fix our defensive problems. Plus he might have knee problems? I'll pass.

we still wouldnt have a center and like merdiesel said, wouldnt fix our defensive problems...

I would do it on the proviso that Al is healthy and T-wolves actually want to trade him (I very much doubt they would)

But what you would be getting is a bad defender and the next immediate move would to be get a defensive C to play alsongside Al (PF).

But at least is a move in the right direction. Trade a perimeter scorer for an inside scorer to create a classic inside out star combo with Jefferson - Tyreke and then plug the holes for the rest of the line up.

This does nothing to improve our defence but I would still do it. The move after this one would be to put up KT and change for tradebait for a defensive center. While Okafor would be good, we would be a little bit undersized in the frontcourt with no 7'0" monsters.

Would still do this trade.

Cut Philly out of the deal. I feel like Minny would rather have Kevin than Iggy.

I'm not sure about this trade. My first reaction was to just say no, but after thinking it over I kind of like it. My only hesitation is that if Minny is willing to let Jefferson go for that, they would probably think his injury is fairly serious in terms of limiting his career ceiling. But if we did this trade and Jefferson reached his full potential, it would be a huge steal, and if he didn't, well, it wouldn't set us back that far, other than having to scour the draft for a legit center. If this was on the table, I'd do it.

I wouldn't trade Martin for Iggy because Iggy needs the ball in his hands. Martin can be effective as a shooter and a slasher. Iggy needs to take his man off the dribble, and yea he is worth a couple highlights a game, but KM23 is underrated and i would rather have underrated in stead of overrated

I don't think Minnie would do this deal. Even if they did it wouldn't solve our need for a third big man that can play D.:(

No offense, but did you look at the trade? We don't get Iggy, we get Al Jefferson.

I'm confused. I thought we needed a big defensive minded center. I don't seem to see one in this trade.

We need a star big as well.

I agree, and I like Al Jefferson. I, like you, have some reservations about his knee. He didn't look as though it was bothering him at all the other night. There's no doubt that he's a legitimate post player and a very good rebounder. Add to the facts, that he only going to turn 25 years of age in January, and he would seem to fit into the larger plan.

I don't know that Minny would go for it since he's the face of the franchise. But, Hawes would give them an actual center to go with Love, and Martin would be star power in return, and would help their outside shooting, which is pitiful. So I can see where it might be attractive to them.

From our side, we would be an even better rebounding team, but we would become a center by committee team. We would still be searching for a defensive center. There may be some conflict with time in the post between Thompson and Jefferson, but that could be a good thing, because I think Thompson is much better when facing the basket. So I could see a high/low post senario for them that works.

So I guess what I'm saying, is that if I look at this trade as seperate issue from solving our defensive center problem, and Jefferson is healthy, then I think it might be a good trade for us. My gut tellls me that Minny won't do it though...
