I remember Brick bringing it up one time and I lost any comments on it not sure what thread it was in. What are the thoughts of Memphis Giving us Thabeet for the #5 is Cousins is gone? Ooorrrr maybe Thabeet and #12 for #5 and Noc. (wishful thinking on that one)
of course they would...
Wesley Johnson would be a PERFECT fit for them
So would John Wall, but I don't think Washington is talking about trading down to nab Thabeet. We'd be better off with Johnson.
If Memphis wants to rid themselves of Thabeet after part of a season why would we want him?
Because Memphis is stupid. This is the team that wanted to trade Thabeet and OJ Mayo for Monta Ellis and the even dumber Warriors turned them down. The owner wanted to draft Thabeet, not the coach or GM and they spent the whole year treating the #2 pick like a red headed stepchild.
#12 and Thabeet for #5? Sold easy. #12 and Thabeet for #5 and #33. Sold easy.
Greene or Casspi for Thabeet? Sure.
#25 and Thabeet for #5?....Ehhhh, sure.
Thabeet for #5?.....No.
I don't see them taking on Nocioni's contract. This is a very cheap franchise.

I wonder if boston said that when Minn traded Garnett to them? I wonder how many posters on the lakers board said that when Olando wanted to trade shaq?

Those players are a dime a dozen. I don't care how big he is or if he can block shots.
I have to disagree with you here. Players of his size/potential (yes, he's still way too young to give up) are not a dime a dozen. That's why crappy centers with decent size are making upwards of 6 million a year. That's why Tyson Chandler is being mentioned as a pick up.
As much as I haven't liked Thabeet since watching him in the Big East, he'd fill a need, and he's still developing. Big men take longer to develop. Also take into consideration that he hasn't been playing b-ball as long as most, and he did put up pretty decent numbers towards the end of the year. If we can get Thabeet on the cheap, I don't see why we wouldn't do it. If no one were available at #5, I'd seriously consider making a swap for #12, with Thabeet and Nocs as players.
