JT is 6'11'' and supposedly better than Hawes at interior defense and rebounding. Stop making excuses. He should be a capable center.

I hate how people call out Hawes and dog him up and down this forum, while ignoring JT's similar issues.
Excuse me? My point was that IMHO JT is no good at center. Hence my comment about "NO CENTER"...

Except JT has shown he can rebound at a high rate most of the season. hawes has not. JT hasn't learned the great boxing out techniques to be great at it all the time but he does do it at times... Hawes has shown none of it. I personally don't think JT is a good interior defender but at he at least looks like he tries most the time

And no, JT isn't a center.

I'm watching Hawes carefully, as much as possible with the CSN coverage. And it appears to me that he's hustling, he's involved and ... in a word ... he's motivated.

Looks like Casspi broke out of his FT shooting slump.

Now I'll just feel like an idiot when he sees my question about his free throw woes next week.

Casspi: "Didn't I just answer that question on the court? Pay attention, Deac."

And my point is that is wrong. He played some C Last season. He's big enough to play C. He's supposedly better at Hawes with interior play. So that comment doesn't apply. He should be considered a capable center.

So far so good. Maybe it worked. Hawes would win a lot of people back playing motivated and with hustle and heart.

Entity

Hall of Famer
JT has 14pts 8reb. Its not like he isn't getting anything. he has had a couple of back taps. Its just nobody else is looking to rebound. everybody is running out.

JT is not a center. He's a better rebounder than Spencer. He hustles more than Spencer. JT has done better FILLING IN as a center than our actual center Spencer has done.

sorry, I'll consider him a capable center when he looks like one. What I've seen tonight only reinforces my comment. JT is not an adequate substitution IMHO for a legitimate center. And that's my point - it's my opinion. You can feel free to disagree, which apparently you do.

He's ok in spurts, but JT is a convert to a big mans game just recently (remember he was a PG for quite awhile). I still don't think he realizes he's 6'11 250 and knows how to use it. He's a hustle player mostly. JT gets a free pass most of the time because fans can see him hustling and playing with heart. We don't see that when Hawes plays, we see a pouty baby most of this season so far.

What do you consider capable? Because he has 14ptd 8reb at center right now with another quarter to play.. With a small pf in Nocioni.

CLARIFICATION: When I say "capable center," I mean as far as defense is concerned, too. And that's the part that just isn't there.
