I read that Murray has previously won a junior US title, but obviously he wasnt expected to get this far.

I think you are over dramatising Loopy.;) My aussie rolled Gimelstob over without breaking sweat...:p

I'd hardly call 6,4,5 not breaking a sweat especially with only 3 legs:D, not quite time for the glue factory yet.

Rain postponed play:eek: I'm shocked, never guessed that would happen at Wimbledon. lol

Damn, Safin lost? Boo, guess he'll go back to hating the grass again.

Serbian tennis is back! :)
Unfortunately,Jelena Jankovic lost today from Miskina, even if she had result in sets 1-1 and she lead 5-1 in third set.
I hope that Ana Ivanovic,Janko Tipsarevic and Novak Djokovic will be great tomorow.
I presonally like Marija Sharapova from Russia, too.

Bball, I was hoping for live updates and great stories, who have you seen play?

The Brits probably had heart attacks to day with that great match from MUrray. I saw some of it and he played very well and despite the loss, I have to congratulate him on a great tournament. He could have won this one.
Serena's out, she fell apart today from what I could tell, not sure if it's injuries or what but for those counting US have 2 men and 3 women left and it's not even the second week. We really need to get some good juniors going. What happened to the academys that were churning out stars in the 80's, oh yes they're now all Russian (women) or Spanish/South American(men).
Unfortunately US junior tennis needs a lot of help right now.

Federer showed flashes of complete genius today. Some incredible points.

Credit to Ferrero, he played really well in the second and third set.

I went to Centre Court today and had a BLAST. It was so much fun. I ate 2 sandwiches and some strawberries and cream. DELICIOUS. Saw all 3 matches for centre court. Hewitt, and Davenport, CLijsters, and Fecerer were hte big names I saw. I bought a water bottle of Wimbledon adn a T-Shirt. It was SO MUCH FUN.

bball, that's great, from what I saw you had some great matches to watch. wimbledon's fun. Did you try Pimms? never mind I forgot you're too young.;) tha strawberries and cream are sooo good, yum. happy memories. Good you got to sit on centre court, see all the great players but what's more fun IMO is to go in the first week and hang around the outside courts. You get so close and see some great matches.

2 great ladies matches today. Venus was just totally awesome, Maria really had no chance in this match. The Davenport match was closer but suspended due to rain (imagine that at Wimbledon:eek:), up 5-3 in the final set. All she has to do is win one game and it will be all US final. That's great news for US tennis.

Tomorrow, let's hope Roddick wins, making 3 out of 4 of the finalists Americans. Sorry LK but your horse is going down tomorrow although he got further than your French pick;) Have fun with bball (still waiting on pics).

^the way it should be...

I haven't watched tennis in years but I am super happy for Venus for coming back like this..and I hope she wins...I'm with Bob Ryan (from the Boston Globe) Venus winning would totally make the better story...but really its been awhile for her and I hope she goes all the way

I love all US finals, but I'm hoping for Lindsay, she's older and this could be her last chance. On the other hand a Venus win will silence all the Williams' haters at least temporarily. it's a shame Roddick's match got rained out, that means he has to play 2 days in a row but he's young, he can handle it. It will not be an easy task beating federer whose never lost a Slam final but he can do it. GO ANDY!!

LK- so sorry...............................................NOT!!!;)

^^ lol.

So...not the best days for the two LK picks....

Federer was awesome, i think Hewitt said it best as another flashing drive whizzed by his outstretched racquet...''Too good mate!''

Federer vs Roddick is now the final i want to see...but i suspect the end result will be a repeat of last year...(there, that's Federer finished!!) lol

VENUS!!!!!!!!!

One of the most unbelievable matches you will ever see. Itwas a microcosm of her career. I absolutely left her for dead, and she rises to win.

Big Ups Venus!!

^^ absolutely..that wasnt just about her ability with a racquet...shows her strength of character, self belief, sheer determination.

It's what Champions are made of.

Hats off to Venus.

What a match bewteen Davenport and Venus!! It was incredible comeback by Venus. Davenport had championship point but could not take advantage, and Venus came back and had teriple match point. Hopefully the match will be like the men's finals.

Bball, when do you come back? I'm waiting for the pics ::taps foot impatiently::;)

great match today, longest final ever (woman's), lowest seed ever to win Wimbledon. congrats to Venus, she deserved it and lindsay showed a lot of class. It must be so hard standing there after losing a match point. She's a great champion also. Today venus just played better when it counts,
